**Manager / Senior Manager Direct Taxation** **Location:** Mumbai (Corporate Office – Phoenix Mills Ltd.) **Role Purpose** Responsible for managing the direct taxation function across Phoenix Mills Ltd. and its group entities, ensuring timely compliance, tax planning, assessments, litigation management, and advisory support while mitigating tax risks and maintaining regulatory compliance. **Key Responsibilities** **Direct Tax Compliance** - Preparation and review of Income Tax Returns for group entities. - Review and filing of tax audit reports. - Computation and monitoring of advance tax and self-assessment tax liabilities. - Review of TDS compliance, reconciliations, and statutory filings. - Coordination with consultants and auditors for tax compliance matters. **Tax Assessments & Litigation** - Handling scrutiny assessments, reassessments, appeals, notices, and tax audits. - Preparing submissions and responses for tax authorities. - Liaising with tax consultants, legal counsels, and government authorities. - Tracking ongoing litigation and evaluating tax exposures. **Tax Planning & Advisory** - Advising business teams on tax implications of proposed transactions. - Reviewing contracts, business arrangements, and restructuring proposals from a tax perspective. - Supporting tax optimization initiatives and evaluating tax-saving opportunities. - Monitoring changes in tax laws and assessing impact on the business. **Group Entity Management** - Managing direct tax compliances across multiple legal entities/SPVs. - Ensuring consistency in tax positions across group companies. - Coordinating with finance teams across malls, residential, commercial, and hospitality businesses. **Reporting & Controls** - Preparation of tax MIS and updates for management. - Monitoring tax provisions, deferred tax workings, and effective tax rate analysis. - Supporting statutory audits and internal audits. - Strengthening tax processes, controls, and automation initiatives. **Desired Candidate Profile** **Qualification** - Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mcom or CWA **Experience** - **4-6 years of post-qualification experience** - Experience in large corporates, real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing, retail, or consulting firms preferred. - Exposure to handling multiple entities/group structures. - Experience in assessments, litigation, tax planning, and corporate tax compliance. **Skills Required** - Strong knowledge of Income Tax Act and related regulations. - Exposure to transfer pricing and international taxation will be an advantage. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Stakeholder management and communication skills. - Proficiency in SAP/Oracle and MS Excel.
