A Day in the Life The Director of Medical Affairs, Clinical Innovation and Partnership would provide a clinical voice with respect to programs being executed from the Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Center (MEIC). This will include providing clinical inputs, consultation around medical affairs as well as internal trainings on relevant topics. The individual would be accountable to develop, grow & sustain partnerships & collaboration with hospitals, academia – start- ups and government relationships as regard to innovation. The individual is expected to work with MDT Medical Affairs, Clinical & Commercial organizations and Business Units in relation to innovation & partnership platforms. The individual would be accountable for the Design Innovation lab at MEIC & Design thinking for local-global initiatives. The individual would also lead efforts in developing relationships with KOLs. The individual would be accountable to ensure clinical immersion program for engineers at MEIC and training in relevant therapies. This individual would direct overall provision of services, policies, and programs relevant to the area of operation in innovation, partnerships and KOL alliances activities. The individual would be accountable to develop, implement and oversee integrated evidence-based medical affairs strategic plan for MEIC. The individual would utilize advanced subject matter expertise to provide medical input to various functions viz; General Management, Strategy, Research & Development, Quality, Regulatory and organizational units to facilitate insightful decision-making and enable achievement of business objectives. Ensures effective objective value propositions are developed and articulated for Medtronic technologies to stakeholders as applicable. The clinician at MEIC would be the bridge between technology development, industry, and the patient. The individual would help the R&D teams understand not only the disease, but also workflow, decision making, patient behavior, and the realities of implementation. The individual would help understand whether an innovation moves beyond a successful prototype into widespread clinical adoption working closely with the OU R&T and Medical affairs teams. Also, the individual would help in enabling clinician-to-clinician diffusion with KOLs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   ·        Sustaining the existing partnerships/ relationships or growing as per requirements with KOLs, Hospitals. Academia and Healthcare eco-system ·        Provide clinician insights Building strategic capability that accelerates innovation, improves product design, strengthens adoption, and ultimately creates better outcomes for patients. ·        Engaging individual physicians through advisory boards, councils, and focused working groups. ·        Inventing a new model and more on disciplined execution around clearly defined objectives. These objectives may include technology roadmaps, product development, clinical workflow design, evidence generation, care pathway optimization, or future-state visioning in partnership with Site leadership and OUs and cross functional teams ·        Accountable for institutional engagement; academic medical centers and health systems ·         Working with the Site Leadership in related areas of Clinical Immersions, Innovation & Partnerships ·        Driving and supporting the R&D and global technical functions at MEIC from a Clinician perspective & meeting their requirements ·        Provide ‘clinical insights’ in the brainstorming sessions and subsequent planning ·        Lead NPD efforts with respect projects/ Pre-PD work to constitute a portfolio of products (device/ digital) that serve local/ domestic market needs/ feed into global pipeline of Projects aligned to OUs  as applicable ·        Build the entire ecosystem map, in alignment with the team’s vision and drive execution of the projects as well ·        Establish a clinical insight generation model and clinical mentoring plan for R&D team and track against the plan   ·        Bring in a ‘healthcare industry innovation and insights’ component into the Product Development Process (PDP) ·        Forecasting budgetary requirements for the group PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Would work closely with MEIC LT, Clinical & Medical Affairs in India, Region and Globally EXPERIENCE   ·        18+ years of applicable work experience as clinician- innovation eco-system in MedTech R&D in areas of clinical/ Medical affairs, Upstream R & T
