Director - Owned Fleet Operations

Job description

**Objective:** To manage company-owned assets effectively, ensuring maximum vehicle uptime, driver efficiency, cost control, and compliance with transportation regulations. **Responsibilities** - **Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:** Supervise routine maintenance schedules, repair scheduling, and ensure vehicle safety compliance (fitness, P.U.C., insurance). - **Driver Management:** Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor drivers. Handle driver scheduling, route dispatching, and monitor driving habits for efficiency and safety. - **Asset Lifecycle Management:** Manage the acquisition and disposal of company-owned assets, including vehicle remarketing for the best ROI. - **Cost Control & Reporting:** Track fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and operational expenses to improve efficiency. Prepare KPI reports for senior management. - **Route Optimization:** Utilize tracking systems (GPS/IoT) to plan efficient routes, reduce idling time, and manage deliveries. - **Vendor Management:** Negotiate with third-party workshops, spare parts vendors, and service providers to ensure quality work at competitive rates **Desirable Skills (Job Description) -** 1. Should be good at Time management. 6. Should be familiar with Preventive maintenance procedures to upkeep the fleet availability. 7. Should be Familiar with Workshop & Quality Management systems. 8. Should be familiar with parts indenting & warehouses management **Basic Qualifications:** Should have Mechanical engineering with 8-10 years / Engineering Diploma with 12+ years of experience in commercial vehicles.
