Job description

**Job Responsibilities:** - To ensure Environment and Health safety across the entire plant and coordinate EHS activities - To advice the concerned department in planning and organizing measures for the effective control of personnel Injuries - To advice on safety aspects in all Job studies and carryout detailed job safety studies of selected jobs - To check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent personnel injury, environmental impacts arising out of any activities done at the organization. - To advise on matters relating to plant safety inspection, Behaviour safety Observations, safety observations tours, safety audits, corporate audits and other external EHS audits. - To carry out plant safety inspection in order to observe the physical condition of work and the work practices and procedure followed by workers and to render advice or measures to be adopted for removing the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions of workers, reduce energy waste & Reduce water waste. - To render advice on matters relating to reporting and investigation of all incidents related to Safety, environment, and Occupational diseases - To investigate all incidents including all near misses. - To involve in selection of suitable PPEs along with all stakeholders and ensure all employees including contractors provided PPEs. - To maintain operation of all Fire Fighting equipment’s such as Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hydrant points and Pump rooms on day-to-day basis and liaise with engineering team for regular maintenance and upkeep of fire Protection and prevention systems. - To promote setting up of safety committees and act as adviser and Catalyst to such committees. - To update all EHS related details in the Enablon portal and update to site management on the progress of KPI’s. - To organize association with the concerned departments, campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safety conditions of workplace, improve the energy, water in a effective way. - To design and conduct either independently or in collaboration with the training department suitable training and educational programs for prevention of personnel injury and prevention of pollution. - To create awareness on ISO 14001:2025 & 45001:2018 and drive all necessary functions to maintain those standard certifications at the site. - To involve and work close with necessary departments for all corporate requirements such as Glidepath, Heatmap, Self-Assessments, FM Global Loss prevention audits, corporate standard audits and legal audits. - To ensure all necessary EHS related Legal compliances are done within the time frame and submitted to statutory bodies. **Area wise Responsibility:** - To conduct mock drill once in six months - Preparation of Budget for EHS department - Conduct Safety Committee meetings once in a month - Liaise with TN Pollution Control Board and submit reports – Monthly return, Environmental, Hazardous waste, stack monitoring & AAQS - Liaise with Factory inspectorate on Factory rules - Liaise with TNPCB & Factory inspectorate on Factory rules - Conduct Safety Week, Environment Week celebration on an Annual Basis - Self-Assessment on RB Guidelines - Monthly KPI, Weekly Reports of KPI.
