**About the Role** We are looking for an experienced **Electrical Design Engineer** to support engineering and execution activities for **Thermal Power Plants, Combined Cycle Power Plants, and Oil & Gas projects** . This role involves electrical system engineering, equipment specification, design calculations, technical bid evaluation, vendor document review, and support to quality and commissioning teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in **power evacuation systems, generators, transformers, bus ducts, switchgear systems, and electrical distribution networks** , along with experience working on large-scale EPC and industrial projects. **Key Responsibilities** - Prepare electrical equipment specifications, datasheets, and engineering documents. - Perform electrical design and sizing calculations for various power system components. - Develop and review engineering deliverables related to power evacuation and electrical distribution systems. - Conduct technical bid evaluations and support vendor selection processes. - Review vendor drawings, calculations, and technical documentation. - Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and equipment lists. - Provide technical support to procurement, quality, construction, and commissioning teams. - Support troubleshooting and technical issue resolution during project execution. - Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with applicable **IEC, NEC, and NEMA standards** . **Required Skills** **Power Plant & Electrical Equipment Expertise** - Generator Systems - Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) - Bus Duct / Isolated Phase Bus (IPB) - Static Frequency Converter (SFC) - DG Systems - Transformers - HV Equipment - MV Switchgear - LV Switchgear - DC Systems & UPS Systems - Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) - Motors and Motor Control Systems - Cable Systems and Cable Engineering - Power Evacuation Systems **Engineering Competencies** - Electrical Equipment Specification Preparation - Electrical Sizing Calculations - Technical Bid Evaluation - Vendor Document Review - Electrical Distribution Design - BOM Preparation - Commissioning Support - Quality Engineering Support - Power System Engineering **Engineering Tools** - ETAP - DIALux - AutoCAD **Standards & Codes** - IEC - NEC - NEMA **Preferred Skills** - Experience in Thermal Power Plant and Combined Cycle Power Plant projects. - Exposure to Oil & Gas electrical engineering projects. - Experience with EPC project execution and detailed engineering. - Knowledge of load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, cable sizing, and electrical system studies. - Strong vendor management and stakeholder coordination skills. - Ability to support site commissioning and project execution teams. **Experience** 8–12 Years **Location** Bangalore | Chennai | Mysore | Hubballi **Qualification** B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
