Job description: Embedded Firmware Lead Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore You Will • Implement Firmware (FW) architecture(s) across our eV platforms & their respective sub-systems from concept to manufacturing release. • Carryout benchmarking activities for Embedded FW platforms & solutions to evaluate differentiating performance factors such as cost, execution speed, latency, memory optimization and OS overheads • Develop firmware for eV sub-systems including but not limited to chargers, charging infrastructure, BMS, ECU/VCU, DC-DC Converters, Motor Drive controllers & Dashboard/HMI systems • Develop, implement & verify state machine, bootloader & Error management services for eV sub-systems • Implement product diagnostic and Error management solutions on specific HW Platforms • Perform a range of firmware development activities leading to integration of Firmware modules, FW Build, device programming, verification tests, regression testing & release processes in accordance with departmental processes and procedures • Drive system integration activities for sub-system firmware. Demonstrate compliance of sub-system(s) performance to expected/targeted system functional specifications • Debug and troubleshoot firmware to resolve risks and challenges during the course of product development • Verify flashing/programming tools/procedures and EoL tests for manufacturing • Participate in code reviews & cross functional discussions such as xFMEA, FTA and Dfx • Implement, test and verify corrective measures for issues/feature upgradation. To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To • Deliver sub-system Firmware modules by demonstrating compliance to functional specifications, SRS requirements & manufacturability requirements. • Develop, Integrate, build, test and verify pre-defined and specific reusable firmware modules against requirements in the SRS document for sub-systems • Develop code for implementing performance features, device drivers, communication protocol(s), digital control, derating/MBD algorithm(s) & functional requirements for a variety of eV sub-systems across HW platforms • Leverage inclusion of reusable libraries & code blocks for HW abstraction across HW platforms (SoC, SoM and MCU) • Carryout functional testing, verification and validation of firmware across eV sub-systems • Prove compliance of eV sub-system firmware to coding standards, serviceability and Maintainability requirements • Demonstrate compliance of firmware deliverables to the department s documented processes and procedures • Carryout firmware development activities towards completion of engineering test strategy/Methodologies/Procedures You Must Have • B.Tech/M Tech in computer science/ Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent • 6+years of experience as SW/FW expert/specialist in an embedded product development industry, automotive industry preferred • Experience in the development FW/SW for of any one or more of the following sub-systems is preferred: IoT devices, Motor drive controllers, eV Charging Infrastructure, eV chargers, Vehicle control Systems (VCU/ECU), Instrumentation clusters, HMI display systems, BMS • Demonstrated experience in SW/FW development, eV Safety and homologation standards • Fair understanding of computer system architecture including 8-,16- and 32-bit processors/controllers • Hands-on knowledge in developing drivers and applications with various communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, TCP/IP, USB, BLE & UDS • Exposure to SW development using RTOS, Linux, Android and iOS • Experience in development of JNI & SW application development using APK/API • Exposure to working with SDK/BSP on HW platforms to realize state machine(s) • Exposure to working with display HMI devices using MIPI/LVDS interface standards • Strong competencies in implementation of state machine, product diagnostics & error management systems • Deep understanding & experience in programming languages like Assembly/C/C++ & Python • Proven Experience in using to compiler, debugging, programming & emulator tools across a variety of MCU development platforms • Demonstrated experience in SW/FW development in a structured environment encompassing utilization of revision control, issue tracking, profilers & debugging tools • Experience in solving challenges related to SW/FW development including safety, security, Integrity, stability, compatibility and OTA updates • Hands-on experience in usage of test and verification tools/equipment including but not limited to DSO, DMM, Power/Spectrum/Protocol/Logic analyzer, Debuggers, Emulators, programmers and exposure to a variety of IDE across multiple MCU platforms • Very good Problem-solving, documentation & communication skills • A passion for automotive electronics/eV and an awesome team-spirit
