## **Company:** Qualcomm India Private Limited ## **Job Area:** Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering **General Summary:** Job Summary: As a Qualcomm **Build System Engineer**, you will design, develop and operate services and methods used for cutting edge software development. **The role also requires** experience in **Installation and Builds** to support software installation, packaging, and build automation activities. We are seeking engineers working with enabling software development using methodologies such as the build systems and tools like Make, Scons, Ninja, or MSBuild, along with a strong understanding of software integration and deployment workflows. Design and maintain these build systems for complex software projects, Develop and optimize build scripts, toolchains, and project configurations. Improve, diagnose and optimize performance bottlenecks, introducing new testing strategies and frameworks to further increase confidence, and investigate health metrics and other ways to gain insight into build system optimizations. Collaborate with engineering teams to manage dependencies, libraries, and integrations. Familiarity with packaging formats such as **MSI, DEB, RPM** and tools like InstallShield, Inno setup or similar. Support environment setup, dependency management, and release packaging. Ability to closely collaborate with cross functional teams and diagnose/debug installation issues. Strong **proficiency** in **Python**, **JavaScript** with a solid grasp of **object‑oriented programming** principles. Familiarly with **Version control**: Git/GitHub/GitLab/Perforce, **Testing tools**: pytest or similar, **CI/CD pipelines**: Airflow, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain build scripts and packages based on **Python** using object‑oriented principles and proven design patterns - Build efficient, maintainable, and optimized solutions following **PEP‑8**, **pylint**, and secure coding best practices - Debug and address performance optimization issues and continuous improvement of the same - Maintain performance metrics of the improvements continuously - Work closely with **hardware, firmware, and validation teams** during platform bring‑up and integration - Participate in **code reviews**, follow upstream‑friendly workflows, and contribute to shared codebases - Experience developing or maintaining install scripts or tools and debugging issues cross platform. - Create clear, high‑quality **customer‑facing technical documentation** Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MS) in **Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical/Electronics**, or related field - Strong proficiency in **Python**, with deep focus on **object‑oriented programming** - Hands‑on experience with **embedded toolchains, cross‑compilation, and debugging** - Strong analytical and debugging skills - Working knowledge of **SDLC and Agile development processes** - Experience with **pytest**, Python packaging, and dependency management Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills: - Version control and collaboration tools: **Git, GitHub/GitLab, Perforce** - Familiarity with **CI/CD pipelines** (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Airflow, or similar) - Debugging experience using **PDB** or equivalent tools - Knowledge of other object‑oriented languages such as **C++ or Java** - Experience with **cloud‑based or web‑based development environments** - Contributions or interest in **open‑source systems software** - Academic projects, internships, or thesis work involving **microcontrollers or SoC platforms** **Minimum Qualifications:** • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. **Minimum Qualifications:** • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
