**ob Title:** Utility Mechanical Engineer / Senior Engineer **Location:** Navsari, Gujarat **Department:** Utilities / Facility Management **Part 1: Job Description** **Core Responsibilities:** - **Utility Operations & Uptime:** Ensure 100% uninterrupted operation and supply of critical plant utilities, including Chilled Water, Compressed Air, HVAC, and Industrial Gases (Nitrogen, Argon, Oxygen, etc.) to the manufacturing lines. - **Equipment Maintenance:** Plan, execute, and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance, and Breakdown Maintenance (BM) for mechanical utility equipment such as Centrifugal/Screw Chillers, Cooling Towers, Oil-Free Air Compressors, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and exhaust blowers. - **Water Treatment Systems:** Oversee the operation and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, Deionized (DI) Water plants, Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), and Sewage Treatment Plants (STP). - **Energy & Resource Management:** Monitor daily energy, air, and water consumption. Identify areas for efficiency improvements and drive cost-reduction and energy conservation initiatives across the facility. - **Piping & Infrastructure:** Maintain and troubleshoot extensive piping networks, valves, and pumping systems for cooling water, chemicals, and gases. Ensure zero leakage and optimal pressure/flow rates. - **Vendor & AMC Management:** Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and external contractors for Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), major overhauls, and prompt breakdown resolutions. - **Compliance & Safety:** Ensure all mechanical utilities comply with statutory regulations (e.g., pressure vessel testing, pollution control board norms). Enforce strict safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry. **Part 2: Job Specification** **Education & Qualifications:** - B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. **Experience:** - 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience in utility operations and maintenance. (3-5 years for Engineer; 5-8+ years for Senior Engineer). - Experience in a large-scale, continuous manufacturing environment (Solar, Semiconductor, Glass, Pharmaceuticals, or FMCG highly preferred). **Technical Skills:** - **Core Machinery:** Strong hands-on troubleshooting expertise with high-capacity Chillers, Air Compressors (Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand, etc.), Cooling Towers, and heavy-duty industrial pumps. - **Systems Knowledge:** Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics (HVAC systems). - **Software & Reporting:** Proficiency in utility SCADA systems, BMS (Building Management Systems), and maintaining detailed daily utility logs and MTTR/MTBF reports. - **Statutory Knowledge:** Familiarity with factory inspectorate requirements for mechanical utility installations and pressure vessels.
