# **Job Description** This role requires deep technology leadership across large-scale engineering organizations, with strong expertise in credit cards technology, modern architecture, cloud platforms, engineering excellence, and resilient delivery in regulated enterprise environments. This role will require managing multi-journey feature teams with an overall team size of 150 to 200. **Core Technology Leadership** - Extensive experience leading large-scale engineering organizations delivering enterprise-grade platforms and customer journeys. - Strong experience operating in complex distributed systems and highly regulated environments. - Proven experience leading engineering modernization and transformation initiatives and leading large teams working in scaled agile. **Credit Card & Payments Domain Experience** - Strong experience in one or more areas: - Credit card issuing platforms - Card lifecycle management - Authorization and transaction processing - Billing and statements - Disputes and chargebacks - Fraud and risk integration - Merchant and payment processing - Rewards and loyalty systems - Digital card servicing - Instalment lending / BNPL capabilities **Architecture & Engineering** - Strong understanding of: - Microservices architecture - API-first engineering - Event-driven architecture - Domain-driven design - Service-oriented architecture - Cell-based or platform engineering models - Experience designing highly scalable, resilient, and secure systems. - Strong understanding of system integration patterns and enterprise integration challenges. **API & Integration Experience** - Experience building and managing enterprise APIs using: - REST - Async/event-driven integrations - API gateways - Service mesh concepts - Experience with: - Kafka - Istio - Tyk - Experience integrating with legacy and third-party platforms. **Cloud & Platform Engineering** - Experience with cloud-native engineering practices. - Strong exposure to: - Amazon Web Services - Kubernetes - Containerization and orchestration - Infrastructure as Code - Platform automation - Understanding of observability, monitoring, and operational tooling. **DevSecOps & Engineering Excellence** - Strong experience implementing: - CI/CD pipelines - Automated testing strategies - Secure software development lifecycle - DevSecOps practices - Engineering quality controls - Experience with tools such as: - GitLab - Jenkins - Terraform **Mainframe & Modernization** - Experience working with legacy modernization programs. - Understanding of: - Mainframe integration patterns - API externalization strategies - Progressive decomposition approaches - Legacy platform simplification - Experience modernizing customer-facing capabilities from legacy core systems. **Mobile & Digital Engineering** - Understanding of digital channel engineering including: - Mobile applications - Web platforms - Experience APIs - Customer-facing journeys - Exposure to: - React Native - Android - iOS **Data & Operational Resilience** - Experience with: - High availability systems - Disaster recovery and resilience engineering - Operational governance - Production support models - Incident management and service recovery - Strong focus on engineering metrics, reliability, and operational stability. **Agile & Delivery** - Experience leading engineering teams in: - Agile - SAFe - Product-aligned delivery models - Strong understanding of: - Value stream delivery - Engineering productivity - Incremental delivery models - Technical debt management .
