The Epub and XML Operator is responsible for converting, formatting, and validating content into structured XML and EPUB formats, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards. Daily tasks include preparing source files, applying styles and tags, performing quality checks, troubleshooting formatting and technical issues, and coordinating with project teams to meet deadlines. The role also involves maintaining documentation of workflows, updating templates and best practices, and supporting continuous improvement of the production process. Collaboration with editors, developers, and project managers is expected to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of digital content. **Qualifications** - Candidates should possess strong XML and EPUB skills (e.g., XML structuring, EPUB creation, validation, and troubleshooting). - Candidates should possess skills in markup and web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, and basic understanding of XSL or related tools). - Candidates should possess digital publishing and content production skills (e.g., working with document formats such as Word, InDesign, or PDF and converting them to XML/EPUB). - Candidates should possess quality assurance and detail-orientation skills (e.g., proofreading digital files, checking layouts, and ensuring accuracy and consistency). - Candidates should possess basic technical and tool proficiency (e.g., XML editors, EPUB validators, and version control or workflow tools used in production environments). - Relevant experience in e-publishing, typesetting, or digital content operations is preferred. - Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple projects and deadlines. - Effective communication and teamwork skills, with openness to feedback and willingness to learn new tools and processes. - A diploma or degree in any discipline; coursework or certification in publishing, IT, or computer applications is an added advantage.
