Position: Associate Consultant-ERP Application & Database Performance Tuning Engineer Experience: 10-15 years Category: Software Development/ Engineering Shift Timing: General Shift/Second Shift Location: Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai Position ID: J0526-2120 Employment Type: Full Time Position Description: We are looking for an experienced ERP Application & Database Performance Tuning Engineer who can proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks across ERP applications and databases. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring system stability, optimizing application and database performance, and improving overall operational efficiency in enterprise ERP environments Your future duties and responsibilities Analyze and resolve ERP application and database performance issues in production and non-production environments. Perform performance tuning for ERP applications, database queries, batch jobs, reports, APIs, and integrations. Identify bottlenecks related to application processing, SQL execution, indexing, memory utilization, locking, and infrastructure. Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, partitioning, and statistics management. Troubleshoot slow-running ERP components such as Process Scheduler jobs, App Engines, reports, workflows, integrations, and interfaces. Monitor ERP application servers, databases, middleware, and infrastructure health. Analyze logs, thread dumps, heap dumps, AWR/ASH reports, wait events, and system metrics for root cause analysis. Tune application server configurations, connection pools, cache settings, and multithreaded jobs. Support critical production incidents and ensure timely issue resolution. Work closely with ERP technical, functional, infrastructure, middleware, and DBA teams. Recommend architecture and configuration improvements for better scalability and performance. Prepare technical documentation, tuning guidelines, and operational knowledge articles. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Qualification Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or higher with minimum 8 years of relevant experience in ERP application support, database administration, or performance tuning roles. Must to have : Strong experience in ERP application support and database performance tuning. Hands-on experience with: o ERP application troubleshooting o SQL query optimization o Database performance analysis o Production issue resolution Strong knowledge of: o Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL databases o ERP application architecture o Application servers and middleware o Linux/Unix performance monitoring Experience in: o SQL execution plan analysis o Index tuning o Locking/blocking analysis o Memory and CPU utilization analysis o Batch and report performance optimization Ability to analyze AWR reports, thread dumps, GC logs, and database wait events. Strong analytical and debugging skills. Good to have: Experience with ERP platforms such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle ERP, or similar enterprise applications. Familiarity with: o Process Scheduler tuning o Integration Broker/API performance tuning o BIRT/SQR/App Engine/COBOL/reporting performance optimization Experience with cloud and containerized ERP environments.
