**Job Title:** Developer **Department** : ISPL F&RS **About Business line/Function:** Under BNP Paribas IT Group, FRS is the IT framework encompassing Projects & Systems of Finance and RISK functions, with a strong focus on efficiency, proximity, agility and time-to-market. FRS is a worldwide organizational model that will contribute to tackle major challenges of the Group’s transformation of today and tomorrow, building the best offering to the Finance and Risk Community through a progressive rotation to new technologies and best practices. The FRS organization is the outcome of several convergences: between the Project & Systems teams of Group Finance, CIB Finance and RISK and their related IT teams. FRS is part of the IT Group organization (ITG in Europe and ITO overseas) with a threefold sponsorship by ITG, Finance and RISK (CIB-ITO; RISK Solutions and ITG-FIT) **Position Purpose:** The Developer will be a part of the ISPL Mumbai – IHC ETL projects team. The developer position will primarily work on ETL & Data warehousing project using PL/SQL, Python, PySpark, Unix shell scripting, Airflow and Autosys **Responsibilities** Direct Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and implement ETL processes using PL/SQL, Python, PySpark and Unix shell scripting to extract data from various sources, transform it into a suitable format, and load it into target systems. - Develop and maintain complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions to support ETL processes. - Write Python and Unix shell scripts to automate ETL tasks, such as data file transfers, data validation, and error handling. - Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop ETL solutions that meet business needs. - Troubleshoot ETL issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes to ensure data integrity and system reliability. - Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and reliability, and implement data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency. - Develop and maintain documentation of ETL processes, including data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and technical notes. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall quality of the codebase. - Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in ETL development and apply this knowledge to continuously improve ETL processes and systems. Contributing Responsibilities - Apply AI‑based query‑optimization or performance‑tuning suggestions where available in your database platform. - Use AI‑assisted code‑completion or code‑review tools to increase productivity when writing PL/SQL or data‑pipeline scripts. - Participate in architecture roadmap discussions, providing input on scalability, cost‑optimization, and emerging data‑platform technologies. - Mentor junior developers on PL/SQL best practices, data‑modelling concepts, and ETL design patterns. - Contribute to the continuous‑integration/continuous‑deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, scripting automated build and deployment steps for database objects. - Evaluate and prototype new tools or frameworks that could enhance the ETL ecosystem. - Engage in cross‑functional agile ceremonies (scrum, sprint planning, retrospectives) to ensure alignment with the broader delivery team. - Support data‑visualization and reporting teams by delivering clean, well‑documented data‑sets and assisting with ad‑hoc data extracts for reporting needs. - Drive knowledge‑sharing by presenting lessons learned, optimization case studies to the wider data community. - Participate in audit and compliance reviews, supplying required artefacts and explanations for data‑pipeline controls. **Technical & Behavioral Competencies** - At least 5 years of experience in ETL development, with a focus on PL/SQL, Python, PySpark and Unix shell scripting for ETL projects. - Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, including SQL, stored procedures, functions, and packages. - Experience with Python and Unix shell scripting, including shell scripts, cron jobs, and automation tools. - Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data governance. - Good to have experience with ETL tools, such as Informatica, Oracle SQL Loader, Oracle Data Integrator or Talend. - Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Conduct meetings with global stakeholders, prepare minutes & summaries. - Assertiveness, Negotiation, Proactiveness & Prioritization skills are important. - Discipline in documenting, following up on issues and changes. - Experience in interacting with global stakeholders and independently managing discussions **Technical Skills** **Skills Referential** **(** **Required knowledge, skills and abilities)** - Oracle PL-SQL - Python and PySpark - Unix shell - Autosys or any other scheduling tools - ETL & Data warehousing **Behavioral Skills** - Communication skills - oral & written - Ability to synthetize / simplify - Attention to detail / rigor - Organizational skills **Education Level:** Bachelor Degree or equivalent **Location:** Mumbai, India **About BNP Paribas Group** BNP Paribas is the European Union’s leading bank and key player in international banking.
