**Position Overview:** **Location: Chennai (REHQ)** **Position Title: EV – NPD & Vendor Development – Electric Motor and Controllers** **Reports to: Lead** **Function: EV Technical** **What we need** **:Exp** : Minimum 6-11 Years of experience in **NPD & Vendor Development – Electric Motors and Controllers** **.Qualification** : BTech / BE / Mechanical/ EEE/ECE/Production/Automobile engineerin **g Technical Skill** - s:Should have experience in EV Parts Sourcing, Vendor Development, Costing, Negotiation and Price Settlemen - t.Should have experience in development of BLDC, PMSM, Motor Controllers and its inner par - tsAbility to analyze and understand the vehicle system requiremen - tsAbility to understand the Powertrain engineering, drawings/SOR and performance curv - esShould have the knowledge on Supplier base on EV componen - tsAwareness of Market Trends, Domestic & Global gov’t policies, Impact analysis, Competitive Benchmark data, Market Intelligen - ceAwareness on Automotive standards / Testing related to motor & controll - erAwareness of QMS, Statutory and legal requiremen - tsWorking knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQ - P)SAP MM & PLM user experien **c** **e What you’ll** do:This position is responsible to identify and develop the competitive suppliers for EV Motors & Controllers ensuring Quality, Cost and On-time delivery targets by closely working with Cross Functional Te - amsCollaborate with CFTs to understand product requirements and parts specifications (S - OR)Identify potential suppliers and send RFQ to them based on part design and bill of materials received from Product Development T - eamTo make Zero Based Costing based on Drawings and make detailed cost comparison of quotations from suppli - ersTo negotiate with suppliers and finalize the part & Tool cost by closely working with Costing team and prepare management approval note and business nomination to potential suppli - ersTo work with suppliers and CFT for DFM/DFA and Process Feasibility conclus - ionTo have good exposure on APQP proces - sesTo freeze Development Time plan with suppliers for Vendor Tooling, manufacturing set-up, inspection facilities, Packaging etc., in line with project milestones and closely work with them for on-time and First Time Right developm - entTo conduct periodic development Review meetings with suppliers and submit the weekly - MISTo work with suppliers & CFT for product maturity and ensure on-time delivery of parts for all builds like Mule, ED, Alpha, Beta, Pilot & - SOPTo get the build issues from CFT and work with suppliers for Design and quality improvements within stipulated time fr - ameTo work with SQA for New supplier Evaluation audit, PPAP, Run @ Rate, PSW sign- - offTo assess the Supplier capacity and take necessary actions to build the capacity in line with volume forec - astTo assess the Quality yield at supplier end and take necessary actions for Quality improveme - ntsTo assess and manage the design changes and obsolescence carefully by closely working with - CFTTo work with Costing team for post-PPAP actualization of commodity, input weight, cycle time et - c.,To work on VA/VE, continuous BOM cost & Process cost optimizat - ionTo work with legal team and suppliers for GPA & SWA sign- off
