**Role & responsibilities** - **Operational Oversight:** Manage and supervise the daily operations of the laser cutting department, ensuring all production targets are consistently met. - **Machine Management:** Oversee the setup, operation, and calibration of CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring they perform optimally. - **Team Leadership:** Train, mentor, and guide laser cutting operators to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to company standards and safety protocols. - **Quality Assurance:** Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures, ensuring all cut parts meet specifications, accuracy standards, and customer requirements. - **Process Optimization:** Continuously analyse and improve laser cutting processes, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and optimize material usage and machine performance. - **Maintenance & Troubleshooting:** Coordinate with maintenance staff for routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime to ensure optimal machine uptime. - **Safety & Compliance:** Enforce all safety procedures, ensure a clean and organized work environment, and maintain a proactive approach to workplace safety. - **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with design, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve production challenges and ensure seamless integration of laser cutting into the overall manufacturing workflow. - **Record Keeping:** Maintain accurate records of production data, material consumption, machine maintenance, and quality checks. **Preferred candidate profile** - Proven experience in operating and managing high-precision CNC laser cutting machines. - Strong understanding of technical drawings, CAD/CAM software, and laser cutting parameters for various materials. - Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong commitment to quality control and workplace safety. - High school diploma or equivalent; a technical or mechanical qualification is preferred. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
