OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. # Job Description ## Senior Technical Manager – Frontend CAD/EDA Flow & Methodology ### Role Overview We are seeking an accomplished **Senior Technical Manager – Frontend CAD/EDA** to lead the development, deployment, and continuous optimization of **front-end CAD/EDA methodologies** across multiple SoC programs. This role will drive innovation in **design automation, RTL quality, synthesis, and formal verification**, while building scalable infrastructure and mentoring high-performing engineering teams. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong people leadership, and a passion for advancing CAD methodologies through **AI/ML-driven automation** and robust scripting frameworks. ### Key Responsibilities Frontend CAD/EDA Flow Architecture - Architect, implement, and manage **front-end CAD/EDA flows** for SoC design creation and integration. - Own and optimize flows including **RTL linting, CDC, compilation/elaboration checks, synthesis, and formal verification**. - Define and enforce **RTL quality standards and metrics** to improve design robustness and reduce downstream issues. Automation & AI/ML Innovation - Lead **AI/ML-driven automation initiatives** to improve design workflows, tool efficiency, and productivity. - Develop predictive analytics for **RTL quality, failure classification, and debug optimization**. - Drive continuous improvement by leveraging data-driven insights from large-scale design executions. Tool & Infrastructure Development - Design and maintain scalable **automation frameworks** using **Python, Perl, Shell scripting, and Makefiles**. - Ensure robust tool integration, configuration management, and flow stability across multiple programs and sites. - Support design teams with reliable, high-performance CAD infrastructure. Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with **EDA vendors** to evaluate, integrate, and support advanced tools and emerging methodologies. - Act as a technical liaison, influencing vendor roadmaps and driving early adoption of new capabilities. - Collaborate closely with **design, verification, and platform teams** to align CAD flows with program milestones. Technical Leadership & Problem Solving - Provide deep technical leadership to resolve **complex tool, flow, and infrastructure issues**. - Drive root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions to prevent recurrence. - Mentor teams to develop strong debugging, automation, and architectural skills. People & Program Leadership - Lead and mentor a high-performing team of CAD/EDA engineers across multiple locations. - Foster a culture of **innovation, technical excellence, ownership, and agility**. - Manage multiple priorities across parallel SoC programs in a fast-paced environment. ### Qualifications Education - **B.E./B.Tech in Electronics Engineering** or a related discipline. - Master’s degree is a plus. Experience - **18+ years** of progressive experience in the **VLSI industry**, with deep expertise in **frontend CAD/EDA tools, flows, and infrastructure**. - Proven experience leading CAD teams supporting **large-scale SoC programs**. ### Skills & Competencies Technical Expertise - Deep understanding of **SoC front-end design flows and EDA ecosystems**. - Expertise in **RTL quality checks, synthesis, formal verification, and tool integration**. - Strong programming and scripting skills (**Python, Perl, Shell, Makefiles**). - EDA Algorithm AI/ML & Automation - Experience applying **AI/ML techniques** to CAD automation and design optimization. - Strong data analysis mindset for improving flow efficiency and predictability.
