Your impact begins on day one, and your contributions will help define our future in the region. **Organization / Role Description:** The Sr. Specialist, Data Engineering (Data Tools) is a hands-on developer responsible for building and supporting data automation tools and full-stack applications within Schwab Data India. The Data Tools team develops modern solutions such as data lineage platforms, automated data quality testing tools, and AI-assisted development capabilities that streamline workflows for hundreds of ETL developers, improving productivity and enabling more efficient, reliable data engineering practices. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers to deliver innovative, scalable, and efficient solutions, leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and enhance quality. This position offers strong opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful, high-impact work, while being part of the Analytical Data Platform Engineering (ADPE) organization that supports Schwab’s enterprise data platforms managing over 4 petabytes of data. Joining this team means being part of a culture that values: - Innovation and forward-thinking solutions - Driving efficiencies and operational excellence - Strong engineering craftsmanship and modern full-stack development - Collaboration and continuous learning - High job satisfaction through meaningful, high-impact work This is an exciting opportunity for developer who are passionate about building world-class data solutions, enabling teams at scale, and making a tangible impact through technology, automation, and AI-driven transformation ## **What you have** **Key Responsibilities:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using Python and Angular, focusing on performance and engineering efficiency. - Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code following established coding standards and best practices. - Implement features, bug fixes, and enhancements for Schwab data automation tools to improve developer productivity and workflow efficiency. - Develop REST APIs and backend services to support data tool applications and integrations. - Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high reliability and code quality. - Participate in technical design discussions and contribute practical ideas to improve solutions, usability, and efficiency. - Leverage AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to accelerate coding, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance overall productivity. Collaboration & Learning - Collaborate with team members through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing. - Work with product owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and acceptance criteria. - Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives. - Coordinate with U.S.-based team members for knowledge transfer and issue resolution. - Document technical implementations, APIs, and system components. **Quality & Operations** - Follow established CI/CD practices for code deployment and release management. - Troubleshoot and debug application issues, providing timely resolutions. - Adhere to Schwab’s security, privacy, and regulatory standards in all development work. - Support production deployments and participate in on-call rotation as needed. - Continuously improve skills in relevant technologies and share learnings with the team. **Required Qualification:** Required Experience - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software development. - Strong proficiency in Python with experience building web applications and APIs. - Working knowledge of Angular or React for front-end development. - Experience with relational databases (SQL) and data modeling
