As a Qualcomm Functional Safety Systems Engineer, working within the Hardware Engineering team, you will plan, design, optimize, verify, and test ADAS System Software, electronic systems, that launch cutting-edge, world class products. Qualcomm Functional Safety Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and meet performance requirements. Responsibilities shall include the following - Responsibilities will include leading functional safety related activities for stack development and ensure ISO 26262 compliance with respect to SW architecture, development processes, and work products. - Communicates and coordinates FuSa topics within the project(s). - Conduct and support safety analyses (e.g. HARA, FMEA, FTA, HAZOP) and identify areas of improvement. - Creates documentation and artifacts according ISO26262 (e.g. FSC, TSC, Safety Case) - Ensures proper requirements management and traceability (Safety) - Ensures the adherence to SW safety methods & metrics - Working with vendors and partners to ensure functional safety requirements are fulfilled by the components that they provide - Work with internal and external functional safety assessors to ensure compliance with ISO 26262 - Hands-on SOTIF analysis experience compliant to ISO 21448 - Compliance experience with Cyber Security (ISO 21434) and its impact on safety life cycle - Knowledge of ISO 8800/AI/ML systems or safety of AI systems Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. - 10+ years Systems, Software, and Safety Engineering in auto Industry. - Collaborative work experience with good communication skills involving customers, vendors, and internal development teams. - Structured problem-solving capability and ability to work with teams on root cause analyses. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. - OR - Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. - OR - PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience. **Preferred Qualifications** - 10+ years Automotive experience and familiarity with Safety work products, experience with Functional Safety Software systems development in auto industry meeting ISO 26262 standards. - Knowledge and experience in the development of ECUs for the automotive industry - Hands on Requirements Management Tools and establishing traceability for functional safety requirements e.g. DOORS, etc. - Knowledge and understanding of ISO26262 (Concept, System, SW) - Knowledge in ASPICE, safety analyses and requirements management - Experience in automotive or other safety related industries (e.g. aviation) - Hands on with ALM tools like Code Beamer is preferred. - Expertise with Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) - Experience applying SEooC according to ISO 26262 - Hands-on experience applying STPA for SOTIF analysis - Certified for ISO 26262, 21448, 21434, 8800
