Subcontractor Area(s) of responsibility Role Summary Responsible for validating application functionality against business requirements by designing and executing functional test cases. Ensures that software meets quality standards before release by identifying defects and working closely with development and business teams. Key Responsibilities Analyze business requirements, BRDs, and SOWs to understand functional scope Create detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test data for functional validation Execute manual functional testing and ensure coverage across modules Identify, log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools Perform regression testing for new releases and enhancements Validate system behavior against functional specifications and acceptance criteria Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements Participate in test planning, estimation, and status reporting Ensure traceability using RTM (Requirement Traceability Matrix) Support UAT and production validation activities where required Required Skills \& Experience Strong understanding of software testing lifecycle (STLC) and SDLC Experience in functional and manual testing Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into test scenarios Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, Azure DevOps ) Good knowledge of test case design techniques Basic understanding of SQL for data validation Familiarity with web, API, or application testing Preferred Qualifications Experience in banking/insurance/any domain-specific applications (customizable) Exposure to automation tools (Selenium, etc.) is an added advantage Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies Experience in UAT coordination or client interactions Key Deliverables Test cases and execution reports Defect logs with proper severity/prioritization RTM ensuring full coverage Daily/weekly status reports Quality sign-off for releases Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Clear communication and stakeholder management Attention to detail Ability to manage timelines and priorities Ownership of assigned testing activities Experience Level Mid Level
