GCP AI Platform Engineer (Vertex AI & Cloud Engineering)

Job description

**Key Responsibilities** - Design, deploy, and support scalable, secure, and highly available AI platforms on Google Cloud Platform. - Ensure the availability, reliability, and operational excellence of Vertex AI and related cloud services. - Build reusable cloud infrastructure patterns and standards for engineering teams. - Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform. - Work closely with business, architecture, engineering, and data science teams to define future-state cloud platform strategies. - Support the deployment and operationalization of AI solutions and ML pipelines. - Implement security and governance controls across cloud environments. - Ensure secure exposure and management of AI models and services following enterprise security standards. - Apply DevSecOps practices with a strong focus on automation, security, and shift-left methodologies. - Manage Linux-based cloud environments and troubleshoot platform-related issues. - Stay informed on emerging cloud, AI, and machine learning technologies and recommend improvements. - Contribute to cloud architecture reviews, governance processes, and platform standardization initiatives. **Required Skills** - 6+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering. - Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Experience working with AI platforms such as Vertex AI, SageMaker, Bedrock, or Copilot ecosystems. - Strong expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). - Advanced knowledge of DevSecOps practices and automation. - Strong understanding of network security and cloud security principles. - Experience managing Linux environments, preferably RHEL. - Knowledge of scalable architecture patterns and AI/ML workflows. - Experience designing secure, reliable, and highly available cloud platforms. **Preferred Skills** - Experience with SAFe Agile methodology. - Exposure to MLOps practices and ML pipeline automation. - BDD/TDD experience. - Python programming knowledge. - Experience with cloud governance frameworks. - Understanding of enterprise AI security and compliance practices. **Desired Candidate Profile** - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration abilities. - Ability to work across multiple engineering and business teams. - Strong ownership and accountability mindset. - Passion for innovation in Cloud, AI, and Machine Learning technologies. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
