The role involves configuring, implementing, and maintaining GE Proficy Plant Applications to support manufacturing operations, production tracking, quality management, and performance monitoring. The professional collaborates with plant engineering, IT, and operations teams to gather requirements, design application workflows, and optimize data collection and reporting. Daily tasks include troubleshooting application issues, integrating Proficy with existing shop-floor systems, creating dashboards and reports, and ensuring data integrity and system reliability. The role also includes documenting configurations, training end users, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and decision-making. **Qualifications** - Strong experience with GE Proficy Plant Applications, including configuration, administration, and customization for manufacturing environments. - Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes, such as MES, SCADA, PLC integration, production tracking, and quality management. - Skills in databases and reporting tools, including SQL, data modeling, dashboards, and analytics for operational insights. - Familiarity with industrial connectivity and integration standards (e.g., OPC, interfaces to ERP or shop-floor systems) and automation fundamentals. - Ability to gather requirements, translate them into functional designs, and document technical solutions clearly. - Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills in a plant operations context. - Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams in engineering, IT, and operations. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant industrial or MES certifications are an advantage. - Experience in discrete or automotive manufacturing environments and prior work with digital transformation or Industry 4.0 initiatives is beneficial.
