**Business Overview** The AI Platform is BNP Paribas CIB's Center of Excellence in AI/Machine Learning, responsible for spearheading the bank's AI transformation initiatives. This department delivers a wide array of AI Services, blending traditional system development with cutting-edge technologies such as Large Language Models (LLM) and high-power Graphics Processing Units (GPU). As part of the CIO Office, the team works in a stimulating environment to build traditional IT applications that leverage Generative AI Services, helping internal clients achieve their AI ambitions through technical and engineering excellence. **Job Responsibilities** * Act as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform lead within the global **generative AI team** (collaborating across London, Paris, and Lisbon) to build scalable, production-grade systems. * Engage in the full agile-based software development lifecycle, including technical analysis, documentation, development, testing, and code reviews. * Support the Generative AI platform service to ensure high availability and continuous improvement regarding new language models, techniques, and use cases. * Work closely with infrastructure teams to deploy and optimize services. * Proactively manage technical, functional, and organizational challenges facing the team. * Liaise with stakeholders to act as a bridging point and manage the coordination required in a dynamic organizational environment. **Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:** * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a top-tier institution. * 8+ years of Python experience with a combination of 3 years in Java/C++ and 5+ years in Python. * Deep understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Time/Space Complexity (Big-O). * Proficiency in Concurrency and Parallel Processing (Multithreading, Multiprocessing, Async Programming). * Ability to solve complex engineering problems involving nested data structures and large-scale data processing. * Experience designing and building secure, scalable, enterprise-grade RESTful APIs. * Strong understanding of API lifecycle management, versioning, authentication, authorization, and security best practices. * Knowledge of performance optimization (caching, asynchronous processing, load management, and resilience patterns). * Strong understanding of LLM fundamentals (Transformers, Attention Mechanisms, Embeddings, BERT, GPT, and modern foundation model architectures). * Ability to architect enterprise-scale AI platforms with governance, observability, security, and banking-grade operational controls. * Ability to design LLM orchestration frameworks using LangGraph (or Google ADK/CrewAI), LangChain, and agent workflows. * Experience deploying and optimizing inference platforms using technologies such as vLLM, TensorRT, or KV caching. * Strong initiative and the ability to adapt to dynamic technical and organizational circumstances. * Results-oriented mindset with an understanding of business impact. * Ability to operate effectively within complex and diverse IT environments. **Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills** * **Frameworks:** Proficiency with FastAPI or Flask. * **Orchestration:** Experience with LlamaIndex. * **Advanced AI Implementation:**Design and implementation of enterprise Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. * Deep understanding of search technologies and retrieval trade-offs (e.g., HNSW, BM25). * Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, containers, and cloud-native deployment patterns. **About BNP Paribas India Solutions:** Established in 2005, BNP Paribas India Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of BNP Paribas SA, the European Union's leading bank with an international reach.
