Overview The Senior Process Executive - Fiber Design (GIS) will be responsible for executing and supporting high-level and low-level fibre optic network designs using IQGeo GIS systems , with a focus on both Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) infrastructure. This role demands a solid understanding of fibre design principles, GIS-based design tools, and coordination with fielding and graphics teams to deliver accurate and cost-effective network designs. Responsibilities Design & Engineering Execution (Primary - 70%) • Develop detailed HLD and LLD designs for middle mile and last mile fiber networks, including Fiber to the Home (FTTH) projects. • Interpret client requirements and apply design standards to generate GIS-based network drawings. • Create preliminary route designs and facility layouts to guide fielding instructions. • Perform detailed ISP designs adhering to client-specific standards. • Generate splicing prints, port assignments, and power loss budgets. • Execute designs within allocated budgets and timelines. Quality Assurance & Review (20%) • Review design outputs for accuracy, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. • Support QC and as-built efforts by updating designs based on field feedback and change requests. • Participate in process improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members. Project Coordination & Communication (10%) • Coordinate with fielding teams for site visits and data collection. • Interface with clients locally and remotely to clarify design expectations. • Provide regular updates to the Design Lead on progress, blockers, and milestone status. • Support documentation efforts in platforms like Documentum and SharePoint. Project Execution Responsibilities: • Review fielding data and client change requests to manage scope and design criteria. • Produce and document change orders. • Perform design updates in IQGeo GIS systems and ensure jurisdictional permit drawings are supported. • Monitor project milestones and maintain accurate records. Requirements Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 1.5 to 3+ years of experience in detailed fiber design, especially ISP/OSP environments. • Intermediate understanding of engineering design principles and applicable standards. • Familiarity with IQGeo GIS or similar GIS-based design platforms. • Basic knowledge of project controls, estimating, and cross-disciplinary coordination. • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Flexible and solution-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and delivery. Preferred Experience: • Experience in middle mile fiber construction projects. • Exposure to Web Applications and GIS design domains. • Prior involvement in mentoring or training design team members. • Technical specialization in fiber optic infrastructure alternatives.
