Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Bangalore, Rupeek is backed by prominent investors including Sequoia Capital, Accel Partners, Bertelsmann, and GGV Capital. **Role Description** The Gold Inspector role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The Gold Inspector will assess and verify the quality, purity, and weight of gold articles presented by customers, using standardized testing methods and tools. This role involves accurately documenting inspection findings, ensuring compliance with internal policies and partner bank guidelines, and supporting loan eligibility decisions based on asset evaluation. The Gold Inspector will interact with customers to explain evaluation results, maintain high standards of safety and security during handling and storage of gold, and uphold Rupeek’s commitment to transparency and trust. Daily tasks also include maintaining inspection records, coordinating with branch and operations teams, and contributing to continuous improvement of inspection processes. **Qualifications** - Strong knowledge of gold purity assessment methods, hallmarking standards, and use of testing tools (e.g., karat meters, acid tests). - Attention to detail and numerical accuracy for measuring weight, recording values, and validating documentation. - Customer service skills to communicate clearly, handle inquiries, and build trust during gold evaluation. - Basic computer literacy for data entry, digital record-keeping, and use of Rupeek’s internal systems. - Integrity and adherence to safety, security, and compliance procedures in handling high-value assets. - Prior experience in gold appraisal, jewelry inspection, pawn or gold loan operations is preferred. - Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad, including regular shifts, with reliability and punctuality. - Minimum educational qualification of high school diploma; vocational or professional training in jewelry/gold appraisal is an advantage.
