**Guidewire PolicyCenter BSA Job Description** **Role Overview** A **Guidewire PolicyCenter BSA (Business Systems Analyst)** acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, and supporting implementation/customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter. **Key Responsibilities** **Requirements & Analysis** - Gather, analyze, and document **business requirements** for insurance policy administration. - Translate business needs into **functional specifications/user stories**. - Conduct **gap analysis** between current system and Guidewire PolicyCenter capabilities. - Facilitate workshops with stakeholders (Underwriting, Product, Operations). **Guidewire PolicyCenter Functional Work** - Configure and support: - Policy lifecycle (submission, issuance, renewal, endorsement, cancellation) - Product model (LOBs, coverages, rules) - Rating and underwriting workflows - Support **configuration changes** and validate business logic. **Stakeholder Coordination** - Act as liaison between: - Business users - Developers (Gosu/Guidewire) - QA and testing teams - Communicate requirements clearly and manage expectations. **Documentation** - Prepare: - Business Requirement Documents (BRD) - Functional Specification Documents (FSD) - Process flows, use cases - Maintain requirement traceability matrix (RTM). **Testing & Validation** - Support **SIT/UAT testing** - Write and review **test cases** - Validate implemented features against requirements - Assist in defect triage & resolution **Agile Delivery** - Participate in: - Sprint planning - Backlog grooming - Daily stand-ups - Define acceptance criteria and ensure story readiness **Required Skills** **Functional / Domain** - Strong understanding of **insurance domain** - P&C (Property & Casualty) preferred - Policy lifecycle knowledge - Familiarity with **Guidewire PolicyCenter modules** - Product Model & Policy Transactions knowledge **Technical Awareness** - Basic understanding of: - Guidewire architecture - Gosu (not mandatory but preferred) - Web services / APIs / integrations - Guidewire Cloud version experience - Experience with tools: - Jira / Azure DevOps - SQL (basic querying) **Analytical & Soft Skills** - Excellent **communication & stakeholder management** - Strong **problem-solving & analytical skills** - Ability to handle multiple priorities **Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related field - 5–8 years of experience (mid to senior roles) - Prior experience with **Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations** (mandatory) **Preferred Certifications** - Guidewire Certification (PolicyCenter Business Analyst / Configuration) - Insurance certifications (AINS, CPCU – optional but beneficial) **Nice-to-Have** - Experience in **end-to-end Guidewire implementation projects** - Knowledge of: - BillingCenter / ClaimCenter integration - Cloud (Guidewire Cloud Platform) - Exposure to **API-first architecture / digital transformations** **Sample Day-to-Day Activities** - Conduct requirement workshop with underwriting team - Write user stories for renewal and endorsement flows - Product release for different provinces - Review configuration changes with developers - Support UAT defect triage - Update Jira backlog and acceptance criteria
