**Role Name**: head Warehouse & Inventory **Location** : Mumbai (Worli) **Department** : Supply chain **Reporting To** : Commercial Head **Job Summary** head Warehouse & Inventory Management will be responsible for planning, controlling, and optimizing inventory across all laboratories, collection centers, regional hubs, and warehouses within the diagnostic network across India. The role will ensure uninterrupted availability of reagents, consumables, diagnostic kits, laboratory supplies, and other critical inventory while minimizing stock-outs, expiries, wastage, and inventory carrying costs. The incumbent will work closely with Procurement, Operations, Laboratory Heads, Finance, Logistics, Quality, and Vendors to establish robust inventory management processes, enhance inventory visibility, improve working capital efficiency, and support business growth across the organization. **Key Responsibilities** **Inventory Planning & Control** - Manage end-to-end inventory planning and replenishment for all laboratories and collection centers across India. - Ensure optimum inventory levels of reagents, consumables, diagnostic kits, laboratory supplies, and other critical materials. - Monitor stock levels, reorder points, safety stock norms, inventory ageing, and consumption trends. - Develop and maintain forecasting models based on test volumes, business growth projections, seasonality, and new test introductions. - Drive timely replenishment planning to prevent stock-outs and service disruptions. - Establish and standardize inventory norms, stocking policies, and replenishment models across all locations. **Inventory Optimization** - Drive inventory optimization initiatives to improve working capital efficiency and inventory productivity. - Monitor and manage slow-moving, non-moving, surplus, obsolete, and excess inventory. - Implement initiatives to reduce inventory carrying costs and improve inventory turns. - Identify opportunities for SKU rationalization and standardization across laboratories. - Ensure optimal inventory balancing and redistribution across regional hubs, warehouses, and laboratories. **Reagent & Consumable Management** - Monitor reagent consumption against test volumes performed (KUI) and identify variances. - Ensure effective management of lot-wise, batch-wise, and expiry-wise inventory. - Track reagent utilization and implement measures to minimize wastage. - Collaborate with laboratory teams to ensure uninterrupted availability of critical testing materials. - Drive proactive management and utilization of short-expiry inventory. - Ensure timely disposal of expired inventory in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. - Ensure laboratories accurately record daily consumption through barcode-based inventory management systems. - Monitor reagent yield, utilization efficiency, and consumption trends across locations. **Inventory Analytics & Reporting** - Develop and maintain inventory dashboards, MIS reports, and performance scorecards. - Monitor and report key inventory KPIs, including: - Inventory Days - Stock Availability - Fill Rate - Inventory Accuracy - Expiry Losses - Consumption Variance - Inventory Ageing - Stock-Out Incidents - Inventory Carrying Cost - Present periodic inventory reviews to leadership with actionable insights and recommendations. - Analyse demand patterns, consumption trends, and inventory performance to drive continuous improvement initiatives. **Warehouse & Distribution Coordination** - Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for inventory movement and replenishment across locations. - Monitor inter-laboratory transfers and stock redistribution activities. - Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of inventory to laboratories and collection centers. - Support implementation and continuous improvement of inventory control systems across warehouses and storage facilities. - Maintain end-to-end inventory traceability and visibility throughout the supply chain network. **ERP & System Management** - Ensure accurate inventory transactions and controls within ERP systems. - Maintain inventory master data, SKU mapping, item codification, and product hierarchies. - Drive automation and digitization initiatives to enhance inventory visibility and control. - Partner with IT and Supply Chain teams to implement process improvements and system enhancements. - Ensure inventory reconciliation, data accuracy, and reporting integrity within ERP platforms. **Audit, Compliance & Quality** - Ensure compliance with NABL, CAP, ISO standards, and internal quality management system requirements. - Conduct periodic inventory audits, cycle counts, and stock verification exercises. - Ensure strict adherence to FEFO (First Expiry First Out) and FIFO inventory management practices. - Maintain complete inventory documentation, audit trails, reconciliation records, and supporting reports. - Support internal, external, regulatory, and accreditation audits. - Implement controls to minimize inventory losses, wastage, and compliance risks. **Stakeholder Management** - Collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, Operations, Quality, Logistics, and Laboratory teams to align inventory strategies with business requirements. - Work with suppliers and vendors to improve replenishment efficiency, inventory visibility, and service levels. - Support leadership in inventory budgeting, working capital planning, and inventory optimization initiatives. - Drive cross-functional projects to improve supply chain efficiency and inventory performance. - Lead governance reviews and inventory performance discussions with key stakeholders. **Qualifications** **Education** - Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, Commerce, Operations, or a related discipline. - MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, or Materials Management preferred. **Experience** - 810 years of experience
