The Health Insurance Underwriter will evaluate health insurance proposals, assess medical and risk profiles, and determine appropriate coverage terms and premiums in line with underwriting guidelines. Responsibilities include analyzing medical reports and financial information, reviewing applications for completeness, and ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves close collaboration with sales, operations, and medical teams to clarify risk factors, support policy issuance, and contribute to product refinement. The Underwriter will also participate in portfolio monitoring, data-driven risk analysis, and continuous improvement of underwriting processes and tools. **Qualifications** - Candidates should possess strong analytical and risk assessment skills, with the ability to interpret medical, financial, and demographic data to make sound underwriting decisions. - Candidates should possess knowledge of health insurance products, underwriting policies, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the Indian insurance market. - Candidates should possess proficiency in using digital tools, spreadsheets, and insurance systems, with comfort working in a technology-driven and data-centric environment. - Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with sales, operations, medical professionals, and customers in a clear and professional manner. - Candidates should possess attention to detail and strong documentation skills to maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance-related documentation. - Relevant academic background such as a bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, commerce, healthcare management, or a related field is beneficial. - Professional certifications in insurance or underwriting (e.g., III, LOMA, or similar) and prior experience in health insurance underwriting or related roles are advantageous.
