**Accessibility Designer:** We are seeking an Accessibility Designer to create inclusive, compliant K-12 educational materials (print and digital). You will apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure our textbooks and learning assets are intuitively designed for students of all abilities, including those with visual, cognitive, or motor impairments. **Key Responsibilities** **1. Visual & Page Design** - Contrast & Color: Define palettes meeting WCAG AA/AAA standards; ensure data visualization does not rely solely on color. - Typography: Implement highly readable fonts and clear typographic hierarchies to aid reading comprehension (e.g., for dyslexia). - Layouts: Create uncluttered, predictable page structures that establish a clear, logical sequence of instruction. **2. Technical Compliance & Assets** - NIMAS/NIMAC Alignment: Structure layouts to seamlessly convert into NIMAS XML files for braille and text-to-speech. - Alt Text: Partner with editorial teams to write and embed high-quality alt text for complex diagrams, maps, and math equations. - Digital Tagging: Ensure e-textbooks and PDFs feature proper reading order, semantic structures, and screen-reader tagging. **3. Strategy & Collaboration** - Process Integration: Embed accessibility standards at the beginning of the design lifecycle, not as an afterthought. - Standardization: Create accessible InDesign/digital templates and maintain internal accessibility style guides. **Key Qualifications** - Tools: Expert in Adobe InDesign (accessible tagging, object anchoring), Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro. - Knowledge: Deep understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, and NIMAS standards. - Experience: 3+ years designing K-12 educational products; familiarity with UDL frameworks. - Credentials: IAAP certification (CPACC or WAS) is a strong plus. **If interested please share your resume : Keerthana.s1@straive.com**
