SS&C GIDS APAC Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Junior / Mid-Level **Company Overview** SS&C is a global provider of investment and financial services software for the financial services and healthcare industries, employing over **27,000 people across 35 countries**. SS&C GIDS APAC operates in **Australia, India and Thailand**, providing end-to-end superannuation, transfer agency and fund services for Investors, Advisors, Fund Managers, and Custodians. **Reports to:** Site Reliability Engineer Manager **About the Role** We are looking for a **Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)** to join our Technology team in APAC region. This role is ideal for candidates with **3+ years industry experience**, including at least **1 year in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering**. You will work closely with senior engineers and our SRE team to **maintain and improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems**, while developing your skills in cloud, automation, and production operations. This is a **hands-on role** where you will gain exposure to modern SRE practices and contribute to meaningful business outcomes. **Key Responsibilities** **Operational Support & Reliability** - Assist in **maintaining the reliability and performance** of critical systems, applications, including in-house developed platforms. - Participate in **incident response**, supporting resolution and documenting learnings. - Help define and monitor **Service Level Objectives (SLOs)** and reliability metrics. - Perform **deployments** into production & non-production hosted environments. - Help define and establish **Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)** for newly created environments and platforms under support. **Automation & Tooling** - Contribute to building tools and automation that **reduce manual work and improve observability**. - Support infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices. **Collaboration & Learning** - Work closely with senior SREs and engineering teams to **implement reliability-focused solutions**. - Participate in **post-incident reviews** and contribute suggestions for improvement. - Develop expertise in cloud, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code. **On-Call & Support** - Participate in an **on-call roster** under supervision to gain experience handling production incidents. **What We’re Looking For** **Experience & Expertise** - **3+ years total industry support and engineering experience**, with at least **1 year in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering role**. - Familiarity with operational concepts, incident management, and monitoring/observability practices. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containers, and CI/CD pipelines. **Technical Skills** - Cloud platforms: **AWS or Azure.** Exposure in working with **private cloud** or hybrid environments is a bonus. - Linux & Windows server administration - Containers: **Docker**; basic **Kubernetes** exposure - Infrastructure-as-Code: **Terraform and Ansible** - CI/CD tooling: GitHub, Octopus Deploy, or equivalent - Scripting: **Linux shell, PowerShell** - Observability: **Site 24x7**, **Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana** (or similar) - Networking fundamentals: firewalls, security groups **Behaviors & Mindset** - Curious and eager to learn modern SRE practices. - Good problem-solving skills and ability to **work independently with guidance**. - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers and stakeholders. - Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and learn incident response best practices. **Business Mindset** - Understand the impact of your work on clients and business outcomes. - Take initiative and seek opportunities to **improve processes and reduce risk**. **Why Join Us** - Gain hands-on experience in a **large-scale, mission-critical financial platform**. - Learn from **experienced senior SREs** and broaden your technical skillset. - Opportunity to grow into a **mid or senior SRE role** within a global organization. - Collaborative, innovative engineering culture with emphasis on learning and continuous improvement.
