Position Title: Hydraulic Systems Engineer Experience Level: 5-10 yrs Department: Engineering / Product Development / Maintenance Engineering About the Role We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Systems Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the design, analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of hydraulic systems for industrial heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support both new product development and existing equipment improvements. Key Responsibilities Hydraulic System Design & Development - Design, model, and validate hydraulic circuits for heavy industrial machinery (e.g., construction equipment, mining equipment, material handling machines). - Select hydraulic components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, motors, filters, and accumulators. - Develop schematics using tools like Draftsight. - Work extensively with Windchill/Creo to identify hydraulics components/suppliers within the customer database to meet new product functions System Analysis & Optimization - Perform hydraulic calculations (flow, pressure, power losses, cooling capacity). - Conduct root cause analysis on system failures and implement corrective modifications. - Optimize hydraulic performance for energy efficiency, reliability, and durability. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers during machine development. - Support manufacturing and assembly teams with hydraulic-related technical guidance. - Provide technical assistance to service teams and customers for troubleshooting issues. Documentation & Compliance - Prepare hydraulic schematics, BOMs, test documentation, and design reports. - Ensure hydraulic system designs meet industry standards (ISO, DIN, SAE) and safety requirements. - Maintain documentation for change management and product lifecycle updates using Windchill. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Fluid Power Engineering, or related field. - 5+ years of professional experience working with hydraulic systems in heavy machinery or industrial equipment. - Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, hydraulic components, and system behavior. - Experience with hydraulic troubleshooting, testing equipment, and diagnostic tools. - Knowledge of hydraulic standards - Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with closed-loop and open-loop hydraulic control systems. - Familiarity with electro-hydraulic systems and proportional/servo valve technology. - Understanding of PLC or embedded control systems used to operate hydraulic functions. - Hands-on experience working with construction, agricultural, mining, or lifting machinery. - Knowledge of FMEA, DFMEA, and reliability engineering practices. Soft Skills - Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. - Excellent communication and technical reporting skills. - Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams. - Attention to detail, with a focus on safety and quality.
