Job Title: JAVA/CLOUD Developer Department: CARDIF Corporate – Data & AI **About Business Line/Function** BNP Paribas Cardif is the insurance subsidiary of BNP Paribas. The development of Analytics is identified as one of the pillars of Cardif's strategy. To achieve its goals in Artificial Intelligence, the Domino Datalab platform was deployed in Cardif and over a hundred data scientists in more than 30 countries use it to develop "models" written in Python to optimize the country's business processes. Transversal Analytics Solutions (TAS). The development and consolidation of those AI solutions require a platform that fulfils the requirements (that most of the countries have in common) of the data science models. For example: document recognition, voice-to-text transcription, model monitoring needs, data storage, etc. To offer “off-the-shelf” solutions in Cardif and to pool skills, generic solutions have been created: Transversal Analytics Solutions (TAS) - A generic IT application offering the desired service. These IT applications are developed in Java depending on the case, exposing the needed interfaces (REST API, web UI, etc) according to the client’s needs. **Position Purpose** Cloud developer The candidate will participate in the development of the internal technical base and the definition of the software architecture of the TAS. TAS uses Java as a technical base as well as recent cloud technologies. The in-depth mastery of these technologies associated with a detailed knowledge of TAS are essential to ensure their development over the long term. In order to strengthen our ability to create and maintain new solutions, we are looking for a Java Cloud technical expert within the TAS team. To build a strong relationship with development teams to understand the code, its dependencies, and the infrastructure on which it runs. For this, we are looking for someone with extensive technical knowledge, working in any subject (development, operations, security, architecture, infrastructure, network, storage) and capable of learning to constantly master new technologies. **Responsibilities** Direct Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications on cloud platforms - Collaborate with cross-functional teams toidentifyand prioritize project requirements - Develop high-quality, scalable, and secure software applications using Java, Spring, and other relevant technologies - Participate in code reviews and ensure that the codebase is maintainable, efficient, and adheres to industry standards - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and collaborate with other engineers to resolve complex problems - Develop andmaintaintechnical documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and release notes - Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Java, cloud computing, and software development Contributing Responsibilities - Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives - Collaborate with DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications - Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements Technical & Behavioral Competencies - Strongproficiencyin Java programming language, including Java 17 - Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex technical issues - Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and other Java frameworks - JavaEEstandards /SpringFramework - Cloud – containerization with Docker and deployment on Kubernetes - CI/CD (as-code approach –gitlab-ci,argo-cd,jenkins), Cloud dev-ops tools, Shell Scripting, Linux environment - Web Services - REST API - Microservices architecture - Experience with cloud-native services - PostgreSQL **Specific Qualifications** Minimum 5 years of experience along with Master Degree or equivalent **Technical Skills** Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities) - Java andit’sframeworks - Web Services - Cloud(Docker & Kubernetes) - PostgreSQL **Behavioral Skills** - Attention to detail / rigor - Adaptability - Creativity & Innovation / Problem solving - Ability to deliver / Results driven **Transversal Skills** - Ability to understand, explain and support change - Analytical Ability - Ability toanticipatebusiness / strategic evolution - Ability to develop others & improve their skills Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent Location: Chennai **About BNP Paribas Group** BNP Paribas is the European Union’s leading bank and key player in international banking.
