**Position Overview** The Run and Change Java Full‑Stack Engineer will join the I&A Squad of the IT IAM Tribe (Insurance Asset Management) at BNP Paribas Cardif, Chennai. The squad is responsible for both RUN activities (monitoring, incident handling, production support, user assistance) and CHANGE activities (enhancements, bug‑fixes, releases) for in‑house applications such as Edgar and Swat that support French and international asset‑inventory processes, Solvency II/IFRS reporting, regulatory QRT generation, unit‑linked fund approval workflows and historical archiving. **Job Responsibilities** - Investigate, diagnose and resolve technical incidents. - Apply bug‑fixes and remediate security vulnerabilities. - Support deployment of Starcust vendor releases and execute deployment plans (including on‑call duties 1‑2 times per month, night/weekend work). - Propose improvements and action plans for recurring incidents. - Contribute to extreme‑application exercise preparations. - Provide first‑line assistance to end‑users. - **Design, develop, test and maintain Java, Angular, SQL code, Control‑M jobs and KSH scripts.** - Estimate effort, cost and timelines for development tasks. - Produce and keep up‑to‑date production and technical documentation. - Prepare test environments and support functional and non‑regression testing. - Take part in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives). - Estimate tasks, commit to sprint goals and deliver on agreed commitments. - Analyse functional and non‑functional requirements, propose technical solutions and raise alerts on legacy or weak code. - Assist the team with technical guidance and facilitate workshops with business analysts, tech leads and product owners. **Required Education, Skills, AND Experience (MUST‑HAVE)** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience). - Minimum 5 years of experience as a full‑stack developer. - Expert‑level Oracle SQL/PLSQL development (stored procedures, analytical functions, query optimisation, execution‑plan analysis). - Strong object‑oriented programming and micro‑services design capabilities (Java). - Proficiency with Angular front‑end development. - Hands‑on experience with DevOps tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD, XL Release. - Familiarity with ITIL incident, problem and change processes (ServiceNow). - Ability to design, implement and maintain Control‑M jobs and KSH scripts. - Fluency in English (C2) and functional French (B2). - Proven analytical mindset, strong communication, problem‑solving, rigor, proactivity and resilience. **Preferred Education, Skills, AND Experience (NICE‑TO‑HAVE)** - Experience with Qlik Sense visualisation and PowerShell scripting. - Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle Exadata/ExaCC environments. - Exposure to quality‑lifecycle management platforms such as ALM Octane. - Prior work in insurance, asset‑management or regulatory reporting domains. - Additional Agile certifications or formal ITIL training. - Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a 24 × 7 global delivery model.
