This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end laboratory functions, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining quality and compliance standards, and leading a high-performing team to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, people management skills, and experience managing high-volume diagnostic laboratories. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead and manage day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring smooth workflow and optimum resource utilization. - Supervise, mentor, and develop laboratory staff while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. - Ensure timely sample processing, accurate testing, and report delivery while consistently meeting defined Turnaround Time (TAT) targets. - Monitor laboratory quality through IQC, EQAS, and adherence to NABL guidelines, internal quality standards, and regulatory requirements. - Drive compliance with laboratory SOPs, biosafety practices, and accreditation standards while ensuring audit readiness. - Oversee inventory planning, reagent availability, equipment maintenance, calibration, and preventive maintenance schedules. - Review operational metrics and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality. - Coordinate with Pathologists, Quality, Operations, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless laboratory performance. - Prepare operational reports, maintain quality documentation, investigate deviations, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). - Ensure effective manpower planning, shift management, and continuous training of laboratory personnel. **Requirements** - DMLT, B.Sc. MLT, M.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology, M.Sc. Biochemistry, M.Sc. Microbiology, or an equivalent qualification in Life Sciences. A postgraduate qualification is preferred. - 8+ years of experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory, including 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role. - Strong understanding of laboratory operations, NABL accreditation standards, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance. - Hands-on experience managing laboratory functions such as Clinical Pathology, Hematology, Biochemistry, Immunology, and Microbiology is preferred. - Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team development skills. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement. - Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office applications is an added advantage.
