**A Snapshot of Your Day** Join our mission to apply Siemens-Energy’s technology to modernize oOEM turbo-compressors, fulfilling clients’ goals in terms of capacity, efficiency, and reliability! As a Layout/Checker, you will create and verify technical layouts for development of solutions from the early stages of initial concept engineering through to installation and commissioning. This approach requires collaboration with SE’s technology experts, factories, service centers and field service personnel worldwide! The extensive oOEM fleet comprises compressors of diverse makes, models, design philosophies, and vintages. Our distinct advantage lies in our comprehensive technology portfolio, combined with over 20 years of experience in modernizing oOEM compressors for numerous clients, and our dedication to servicing them as part of the SE fleet. You are encouraged to learn from their over 30 years of experience and develop it by applying brand-new technologies such as AI or next-generation laser scanners. The growth experience of this position offers the successful applicant beyond just the layout/checker function. **How You’ll Make an Impact:** - Offer support for pre-sale activities by evaluating proposed solutions for practicality, logistics, and risk mitigation to improve sales efforts. - Create accurate layout drawings and 3D models of parts and equipment, including dimensions, tolerances, fits, finishes, and materials. - Develop a list of new drawings for prototypes and contract equipment. - Ensure all drawings, layouts, and bills of material are verified for accurate part numbers, quantities, welding methods, and compliance with manufacturing standards and applying accurate dimensioning techniques. - Support Manufacturing and Supply Chain personnel in interpreting customer and manufacturing drawings and material lists. - Evaluate and address shop issues related to deviations from drawings by clearly explaining changes and corrections on check prints to colleagues. - Engage in field and service center work, supporting hardware implementation into client compressors. **What You Bring** : - A 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in working with rotating machinery (such as centrifugal compressors, pumps, axial compressors, screw compressors, integrally geared compressors, and auxiliary systems) is preferred. - Alternatively, a 2-year associate degree in Drafting or a similar qualification, combined with 5+ years of experience in design drafting (both 2D and 3D CAD) and working with rotating machinery, will also be considered. diploma or GED with at least 10 years of experience in design drafting (2D and 3D CAD) and working with rotating machinery is acceptable. - Candidates with more experience may be eligible for a more senior level position. High attention to detail and big picture thinker and excellent communication skills and able to work with team members across the organization. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. Capable of working independently or with a team on complex designs. Proficient in reverse engineering with dimensional inspection techniques, including the use of micrometers and laser scanners, for OEM parts and assemblies. - Strong oral and written communication skills to prepare and present to any internal or external client level. Travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% annually; Must have current passport (or ability to obtain) and valid driver's license. - Must be self-motivated, well-organized, able to prioritize work, possess good listening skills, and accurately relay information to others. **About The Team** Transformation of Industry Our Transformation of Industry division is decarbonizing the industrial sector.
