Secondary Design Engineer - Lead (Substations) Job description As lead secondary design engineer-substations the person shall be capable of creating \& reviewing \& executing secondary engineering / electrical design activities for substation/ power distribution projects. She/he will -review BOQ -check vendor offers for protection relays/SAS/LVAC and DC systems-generate Single Line Diagram(SLD) / protection and control SLD / interlocking schemes / cable schedules / review schematics / propose SAS signal lists and detailed design drawings along with drafters -will prepare calculations e.g. Ct sizing / battery dg sizing / cable sizing / lv cable estimation etc. Will deliver outcomes on time as per project needs. Job specification Experience in high voltage substation secondary design min 7 years with voltage levels 15kV up to 500kV covering both AIS and GIS. Having BTech-BSc equivalent degree in electrical and electronics engineering. Worked in multinational projects. Able to manage a team of engineers and drafters. MTech degree and site commissioning experience is an asset. Working level knowledge on power system studies is desired. Key responsibilities: · Timely completion of all deliverables · Responsible for review of CRP (control relay panels) and automation drawings developed by the vendor · Interact with site execution \& cluster teams for clarification w.r.t. The design of equipment · Interact with vendor for clarification w.r.t. Compliances to technical specifications \& comments and quality · Coordinate with primary design engineer obtaining specification requirement of the client and checklist for evaluation from the project engineering managers · Evaluate technical offers based on technical specification (requirement) of the client and timely submission to design lead (secondary) for review · Prepare design calculations of CT / VT and battery sizing and development of dc \& ac single line diagrams of a substation and submitting to the design lead for checking · Review bill of material and comparing with the tender quantity Pre-tender engineering including estimation of BOM (bill of materials) and offer reviews for secondary equipment
