Lead Structural Design Engineer

Job description

**Role & responsibilities** : **1. Design & Engineering Management** - Direct the structural design for heavy industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects using advanced software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000). - Develop and approve design criteria, calculations, and detailed drawings for concrete/steel structures, equipment foundations, and pipe racks. - Ensure all designs strictly comply with relevant domestic and international codes (e.g., IS, AISC, Eurocodes, ACI). **2. Multidisciplinary & Interface Coordination** - Collaborate with process, mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines to guarantee a clash-free system design. - Review and approve critical vendor data (e.g., equipment loads, skid foundations) and contractor submissions. **3. Project Execution & Procurement** - Complete assigned engineering work-breakdown structure (WBS) elements within allotted man-hours and schedule dates. - Support technical procurement, formulate material take-offs (MTOs), and monitor civil/structural material quantities. - Support value engineering initiatives and constructability reviews to optimize costs and efficiency. [ **4. Quality Assurance & Site Support** - Conduct formal quality reviews (QA/QC) of inter-discipline documents and engineering deliverables prior to client submission. - Attend site visits, resolve technical queries (TQ), answer Requests for Information (RFIs), and address non-conformance reports (NCRs). **5. Leadership & Mentorship** - Supervise, train, and mentor a team of structural engineers and draftsmen. - Act as the final technical approval authority for structural deviations or derogations **Preferred candidate profile** - Candidate preferred from design consultancy background. - BE/B.Tech OR ME/M.Tech in Civil/Structural discipline. - 10+ years' experience in structural design, review and coordination with at least 7+ years in EPC projects for Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Solar, Datacenter, Pharmaceuticals & other industrial projects. - Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills. - Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced EPC environment. kickoff meeting, Project progress, Client Model review (30%, 60% & 90%) & milestone meetings as assigned. - Lesson Learnt Activities - Client / PMC/ Consultant Meeting - Project execution activities whenever there is an opportunity
