In this role, you will drive end-to-end migration efforts leveraging AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), while authoring migration runbooks that guide broader engineering teams through complex enterprise transitions. **Responsibilities** - Lead the setup, configuration, and validation of AWS DMS and SCT for heterogeneous database migrations - Design and implement Aurora PostgreSQL environments using Infrastructure-as-Code principles - Author comprehensive migration runbooks for execution by the broader engineering team - Deliver end-to-end heterogeneous database migration projects for enterprise customers - Perform production-grade database operations including backup/restore, parameter tuning, and failover testing - Drive schema conversion efforts from MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration execution and knowledge transfer - Validate data integrity and performance benchmarks throughout the migration lifecycle - Provide technical leadership and mentorship on AWS database migration best practices **Requirements** - 10+ years of hands-on system engineering experience - At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience - Expertise in AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), and MGN - Deep proficiency in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL (or Aurora PostgreSQL) - Background in production-grade database operations, including backup/restore, parameter tuning, and failover testing - Skills in Infrastructure-as-Code for database resources using Terraform and CloudFormation - Showcase of authored or contributed migration runbooks for enterprise customers - Proven capability to deliver heterogeneous database migration projects end-to-end - Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher **We offer** - Opportunity to work on technical challenges that may impact across geographies - Vast opportunities for self-development: online university, knowledge sharing opportunities globally, learning opportunities through external certifications - Opportunity to share your ideas on international platforms - Sponsored Tech Talks & Hackathons - Unlimited access to LinkedIn learning solutions - Possibility to relocate to any EPAM office for short and long-term projects - Focused individual development - Benefit package: - Health benefits - Retirement benefits - Paid time off - Flexible benefits - Forums to explore beyond work passion (CSR, photography, painting, sports, etc.)
