Job description

We are looking for a skilled **Linux Administrator** with experience in enterprise backup and recovery solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Linux server infrastructure, ensuring system availability and performance, and supporting backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations across the enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities - Administer, monitor, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) in production environments. - Perform server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. - Manage users, groups, file systems, permissions, services, and system security. - Monitor system performance and resolve infrastructure-related issues. - Create and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency. - Manage and support enterprise backup solutions such as **Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Rubrik, Veeam, EMC Networker, or IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)**. - Perform backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery activities. - Investigate and resolve backup failures and ensure successful completion of scheduled backup jobs. - Collaborate with storage, virtualization, and application teams to ensure data protection and system availability. - Maintain operational documentation and follow ITIL processes for Incident, Change, and Problem Management. Required Skills - Strong hands-on experience in **Linux Administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)**. - Expertise in server administration, troubleshooting, patching, and performance tuning. - Good knowledge of **Shell Scripting (Bash)**. - Experience with Linux file systems, LVM, networking, and security hardening. - Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise backup solution: - Veritas NetBackup - Commvault - Rubrik - Veeam - Dell EMC Networker - IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM) - Good understanding of Backup, Restore, and Disaster Recovery concepts. - Experience supporting VMware or other virtualized environments. Good to Have Skills - SAN/NAS Storage Administration. - Azure Backup or AWS Backup. - Ansible or Python scripting. - Knowledge of monitoring tools and automation frameworks. - ITIL Certification. Preferred Certifications - RHCSA / RHCE - Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) - Veritas, Commvault, Rubrik, or Veeam Certification - ITIL Foundation
