**Role Description** This is a full-time, on-site Linux System Administrator role based in Gurugram. The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers that power Blinkit’s e-commerce and delivery platforms. Daily tasks include monitoring system performance, ensuring high availability, applying security patches, managing backups and recovery procedures, and troubleshooting infrastructure and network issues. The role involves collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to support deployments, optimize resource usage, and maintain compliance with internal standards. The administrator will also document system configurations, improve automation and tooling, and participate in on-call rotations to support a 24/7 production environment. **Qualifications** - Strong Linux system administration skills, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting on major distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL). - Experience with server and infrastructure management tools, such as monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Nagios), We are looking for a candidate with experience in Linux and open-source monitoring and automation tools, specifically. - Monitoring: Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios Core, Icinga 2, Cacti, Pandora FMS, and NetXMS. - Inventory & Documentation: NetBox. - Automation & Configuration: Ansible, Rancid, and Oxidized. - Candidates should be proficient in Linux system administration and SNMP-based network device monitoring. and configuration management or automation (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or similar). - Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, and routing in large-scale environments. - Proficiency in scripting for automation and maintenance tasks (e.g., Bash, Python), and familiarity with version control systems like Git. - Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes) and managing cloud or hybrid infrastructure. - Knowledge of security best practices, including user and access management, hardening Linux systems, patch management, and compliance with security policies. - Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, manage priorities in a fast-paced environment, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in high-availability or e-commerce environments is a plus.
