The Linux ISST (Integrated Systems Software Test) team is hiring for Linux System Test Engineer. As an early professional in this field, you bring an understanding of Computer architecture (PowerPC or Intel) and operating system concepts (preferably in Linux). This opportunity gets you involved in all phases of software development life cycle and work with a vibrant, reputed and technically accomplished team who focus on Linux open-source development. You will learn about new IBM Power architecture, Linux OS subsystems, automation frameworks, use of AI tools (ex: IBM Bob) to improve productivity and many advanced enterprise technologies. As a Linux on Power System Test Engineer you will execute the system tests against all supported Linux Distributions (ex: RedHat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise System) on current and next generation IBM POWER system servers. You will be responsible for the quality of Linux OS releases on IBM Power and give green signal to our Enterprise customers. As Linux system test engineer, you will be responsible for following: Validation of the end-to-end systems stack which involves. Linux OS, Firmware and VIOS (Virtual IO Server) on IBM Power servers You will also design and develop test cases and scenarios for new Linux features. Develop automation for new test cases and scenario (say using Python) and integrate automation flow into existing test automation framework Interfacing with development teams and cross teams (ex: Linux, Firmware, VIOS etc) on new features Diagnosis and troubleshooting of issues. Report defects and verify fixes. Use AI tools (ex: IBM Bob) to accelerate your technical depth and bring test efficiency and productivity. 0-1 year of industry experience with strong academic records Sound knowledge of operating system internals (Linux/Unix) Strong automation skills (Python, Shell scripting etc) Good knowledge of computer systems architecture Strong Linux debugging skills Use of any AI tools, prompt tuning, context engineering Proven communication skills
