**About the Role** The Localization team is looking for an experienced Localization Program Manager to help scale Uber's global localization efforts. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Content, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Regional Operations, and other teams to deliver high-quality localized experiences that support global and regional product launches. You will own end-to-end localization programs, drive process improvements, and help shape the future of localization through automation and AI-powered workflows. This is a hybrid role requiring employees to work from the office three days per week. **What You'll Do** - Manage end-to-end localization for Uber products and external-facing content across all supported languages, including planning, stakeholder consultation, localization delivery, linguistic quality assurance (LQA), and localization bug management. - Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and other cross-functional teams to review and influence product requirements (PRDs/RFCs), ensuring globalization and localization needs are considered early in the development lifecycle. - Lead localization for a wide range of content, including product UI, customer support content, legal documentation, marketing campaigns, websites, surveys, contracts, dashboards, and other customer-facing assets. - Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve localization processes, scalability, and operational efficiency. - Identify opportunities to enhance localization tools and workflows, partnering with Localization Technical Operations to implement improvements. - Collaborate closely with external localization vendors and language service providers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and on-time execution across regional time zones. - Monitor localization quality, timelines, budgets, and program health while identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement. **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of localization project or program management experience within the technology industry, preferably on the client side. - Strong understanding of localization, internationalization (i18n), and globalization (g11n) best practices. - Experience leveraging modern localization technologies, including Machine Translation (MT), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Generative AI within localization workflows. - Experience working with localization vendors supporting Fortune 100 companies or enterprise-scale localization programs. - Experience managing localization budgets and analyzing program metrics and trends. - Proven ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and drive complex programs across multiple stakeholders and regions. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable solutions. - Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and execution. - Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders across varying levels of the organization. - Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. - Ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and technologies. **Preferred Qualifications** - Experience using Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools such as WorldServer, Phrase, Trados, or similar localization platforms. - Experience managing localization across multiple content types, including product UI, Help Center/support content, marketing materials, and legal documentation. - Experience designing or implementing GenAI-enabled localization workflows, including AI quality evaluation and human-in-the-loop review processes. **Ready to Ride?** This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook - it's where you help write one.
