**Mainframe QE** position in EGL. **Location:** Bangalore & Chennai **The Value You Deliver** - **Translate business and systems requirements into technical requirements for automation and software tools & framework.** - Design, develop, document, and maintain automated tests and software tools. - Actively contributing to the day-to-day planning, design, execution, and reporting of automation metrics and KPIs - Adhere to software engineering principles in development of automation software and develop software to test software and keeping zero tech debt with sonar quality gate. - Understand and apply test driven/behavior driven design concepts to test and debug automated solutions and software utilities developed by self and others. - Do white box testing where required. - Deliver accurate and maintainable code for automated test suite and software utilities. - Collaborate with other technical resources to: - Suggest improvements for processes, best practices, and standards. - Identify opportunities to improve maintainability of automation platform. **The Skills that are Key to this role** **Technical skills** - 6 - 9 Years of experience predominantly in **software test/ Quality Engineering.** - **Mainframe Systems testing** (CICS Screen, VSAM Files, JCL, DB2, SPUFI) as well as Web UI, RESTful web services validations with Automation - Deep Expertise in analyzing batch job outputs and backend data (DB2, VSAM). - Jenkins / Git Hub Actions (CI/CD Pipelines) - Strong SQL skills - Well versed with QE Best Practices such as Test Suite Management, Traceability, Defect lifecycle Management etc. - Hands-on experience with Java programming and experience with **Jegacy**, Playwright etc. - Experience in the following is a strong plus: - Validation of RESTful web services with Automation. - Validation of Event Based Architecture using automation. - Hands-on experience in Playwright & Karate. **Responsibilities in this Role** - **Translating business and systems requirements into test strategy, test scenarios and test plans.** - Designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining optimized automated test scripts. - Rotational QE - On-call Support in Prod and Preprod infrastructure. - Adhering to Engineering Practices in development of automation framework. - Understand and apply BDD design concepts to evaluate software solutions. - Delivering accurate and maintainable code for automation and software utilities. - Measure and Report key QE metrics. - Accessibility Testing on web browser pages. - Contribute towards Quality Engineering chapter initiatives. - Collaborating with other technical resources to: - Suggest improvements for processes, best practices, and standards. - Identify opportunities to improve maintainability of automation platform.
