Manager – Business Finance Chartered Accountant | 5–6 Years of Experience in Business Finance / FP&A Function: Finance – Business Finance / FP&A Location: Bengaluru, India Reporting To: Finance Director / Business Finance Head Experience: 5–6 years post-qualification, with prior exposure to a professional services, IT/ITES, or consulting environment preferred Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory Role Purpose We are looking for a Chartered Accountant with 5–6 years of business finance experience to partner closely with portfolio and practice leadership on budgeting, revenue and margin management, and monthly financial reporting. This is a high-visibility role that combines financial rigor with day-to-day business partnering, and offers direct exposure to portfolio owners, practice leads, and senior finance leadership. Key Responsibilities Budgeting, Forecasting & Margin Management • Lead preparation of annual and quarterly rolling budgets, including revenue, capacity, and net margin targets across assigned portfolios/practices. • Review cost and revenue projections, labour margin, and account-level profitability; identify inefficiencies and margin drag, and work with stakeholders to correct them. • Support finalization of key investment asks, ensuring they are evaluated within the approved cost and revenue envelope. • Build and maintain margin scorecards and business cases for margin exceptions requiring Finance approval. MIS, Reporting & Financial Planning • Own preparation of monthly financials and management commentary, ensuring revenue and cost are accounted for accurately and on time. • Prepare and present budget status updates and variance analysis to portfolio owners, practice leads, and leadership. • Track and report on DSO, blocked resources, and other portfolio-level financial health metrics. • Ensure compliance of time-tracking and revenue recognition processes with internal standards. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management • Act as the primary Finance point of contact for assigned portfolio owners and practice leads, providing data-backed recommendations on pricing, resourcing, and profitability. • Collaborate cross-functionally with revenue operations, controllership, and delivery teams to resolve billing, margin, and revenue attribution issues. • Support client-level commercial discussions, including margin compression scenarios and billing adjustments. Process & Governance • Drive standardization of finance processes, SOPs, and templates across portfolios/practices. • Independently handle revenue audits and support internal control and risk-mitigation activities. • Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting workflows. Required Skills & Competencies Technical • Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel. • Solid understanding of revenue recognition, financial accounting, and audit/internal control practices. • Working knowledge of PowerPoint-based management reporting; exposure to ERP/NetSuite or similar systems is a plus. Behavioural • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence portfolio and practice leadership with data-backed reasoning. • Precise, detail-oriented, and comfortable pushing back with evidence when numbers don't add up. • Ability to manage multiple portfolios/practices simultaneously and work to tight monthly/quarterly closing timelines. • Clear, direct written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior leadership. Qualification & Experience • Chartered Accountant (CA) — mandatory. • 5–6 years of post-qualification experience in business finance, FP&A, or client financial management, preferably within IT/ITES, consulting, or professional services. • Prior experience owning budget cycles, monthly MIS, or margin/profitability analysis for a business unit or account portfolio is strongly preferred.
