Safety & Risk Management**** - Instrumentation Planning & Design Coordination - Review project specifications, geotechnical baseline reports, instrumentation drawings, and monitoring plans. - Identify the type, location, and quantity of instruments required for TBM, NATM, or cut?and?cover tunneling. - Coordinate with design and geotechnical teams to finalize monitoring layouts and trigger levels. - Prepare method statements, installation procedures, and quality control checklists. - Supervise and ensure proper installation of geotechnical instruments such as - Inclinometers - Piezometers (standpipe, VW, pneumatic) - Settlement markers - Extensometers - Convergence monitoring targets - Load cells & strain gauges - Tilt meters & crack meters - Seismic and vibration monitors - Conduct calibration, testing, and commissioning of all sensors and data loggers. - Ensure instruments are installed as per QA/QC standards and relevant project specifications. - Manage automatic and manual data acquisition systems (ADS/DAS). - Perform daily/weekly/monthly monitoring as per the instrument type. - Ensure continuous data flow from remote monitoring systems and address communication failures. - Maintain logs of ground movements, settlement, vibration levels, groundwater fluctuations, and structural loads. - Validate and clean raw data before submission. - Analyze monitoring data to detect abnormal trends or threshold exceedance. - Inform project managers, geotechnical engineers, and construction teams when trigger limits are crossed. - Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly instrumentation monitoring reports. - Support decision-making in ground control, NATM support class modification, and TBM operational adjustments. - Ensure instrumentation systems comply with safety requirements, especially in urban tunneling. - Participate in risk assessments and identify early warning indicators of potential ground failure.
