We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the INM WPB team. **Role Purpose** The role of an **Investment Counsellor (IC)** is that of a **Wealth / Investment Product Expert (PE)** who provides financial analysis and investment recommendations primarily to customers with **Funds under Management (FUM) > INR 10M** . This is a **Virtual IC** role, partnering closely with **Overseas Indian VRMs** and the **PFC Team** to deepen client relationships, improve investment outcomes, and drive sustainable AUM and net sales growth. **Principal Responsibilities** - Strengthen HSBC’s image as a leading wealth provider by providing clients with access to advanced technical product expertise and high-quality investment advice delivered virtually. - Support Overseas Indian VRMs and the PFC Team to build clients’ confidence and trust in HSBC capabilities and increase the effectiveness and quality of needs fulfilled for target clients. - Deepen and grow client relationships by identifying and uncovering client needs, recommending relevant wealth solutions, and providing technical analysis to support client conversations and closures. - Join VRMs/PFC in virtual client meetings and provide advice and input based on technical knowledge, acting as a second point of contact for specific products and solutions. - Coach and upskill VRMs/PFC on product-specific technical knowledge through structured on-the-job coaching, case clinics, and targeted training sessions. - Ring-fencing of Premier customers (where applicable to the coverage model) and ensuring appropriate client engagement and solutioning aligned to segment needs. - End-to-end ownership of Investment Sales & Distribution outcomes for the assigned virtual coverage/patch, driving strategic objectives such as: - AUM growth - Net sales consistency - VRM/PFC productivity - Unique client transactions - Increased client coverage - Financial Wellness sessions - New product campaigns aligned to regional KPIs - Portfolio analytics discipline: analyse portfolios of 35–40 customers per month and engage them with advice based on sound investment expertise (virtual engagement model). - Supporting Head Investment Sales: This role will report to Head of Investment Sales and also work closely in driving NNIA strategy for the team. **Qualifications / Requirements** - MBA from a reputed institute preferred; Post Graduate Degree (preferably Economics, Mathematics, Finance) or professional qualifications like CA preferred. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Understanding of security markets and conduct meaningful conversations with clients. - Demonstrate behaviours consistent with HSBC Values. - Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage. - Mandatory NISM Certifications: - NISM-VA – MF Distributors - NISM-XXI-A – PMS Distributors - NISM-XIII – Common Derivatives - NISM-XIX-B – AIF (Category III) Distributors - Expertise in bank systems and processes. - Skills in sales, financial planning, and communication. - Knowledge of bank and operating platforms, industry/sector knowledge, and sales/service techniques and models. **Skills** - Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills (virtual-first). - Coaching techniques (team and one-to-one). - Planning and organizing skills. **Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.** Personal data held by the Bank relating to employment applications will be used in accordance with our Privacy Statement, which is available on our website. **Issued by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, India**
