Job Purpose **Key Result Areas/Accountabilities** **Supporting Actions** Planning - Evaluate options and guide for pre-feasibility study, study site suitability, raw material assessment, plant potential, product quality, project cost, operating cost, resource availability like land, water and electricity, social impact assessment, legal and regulatory constraints, railroad connectivity, etc. explore and examine potential for investment, conceptualize and make proposals for principal approval for investments in projects for business development and growth. - Develop standard operating procedures for project planning based on global best practices, review important conditions of contract being followed across the project and gain acceptance for the same by interacting with project teams across the business. Based on the framework of the project to re-define standard operating procedure and policies. Project execution - Finalize the Engineering Consultant, undertake preparation of the project execution plan, chart out basic as well as advanced engineering activities and monitor their implementation, finalize specifications and technology requirements, and ensure end to end project management - Direct implementation of projects as per plan to achieve agreed parameters - and delivery timelines, ensuring quality of all execution activities and optimum      deployment and utilization of resources. - Identify and ensure implementation of latest software and communication tools for project management & communication to ensure smooth execution of project - Undertake benchmarking of critical parameters such as timeline, cost, equipment performance, productivity with other projects of similar nature and implement the best practices. Encourage team & participate in various exhibitions, forums, and platforms to keep abreast of industry trends/best practices. - Ensure adherence to highest quality standards by incorporating system and process improvements on an ongoing basis in line with best practices. Envisage long term technical issues/risks associated with the project and adopt a structured approach to resolution of the same for achievement of business objectives. Budgetary Controls & Cost Management - completing projects within budgeted cost by controlling consumption of resources, inventory as well cost of procurement. Compliances - Ensure compliance of all central / state government statutory regulations during project execution. Reviewing project activities on a periodic basis to ensure compliance to organizational policies and statutory requirements. Safety - Ensure that all changes are made through MOC system, HAZOP / PSSR / HIRA is conducted for them, and all identified hazards & unsafe behaviors are addressed using relevant matrix. - Drive strategic / large scale improvement initiatives under the guidance of PBU Head and ensure all statutory requirements in the Area are met with focus on air and water pollution control, for hazardous wastes and effluents. - Adopt digital practices that enable safe work environment (online alerts for PPE violation, using AI for creating / refining / updating SOP for critical activities, remote monitoring of confined spaces, etc.) - Ensure implementation of safety guidelines related to vehicular movement & material handling to control the associated risks in the Area. - Supervise outsourced activities and cost reduction against all types of waste in the Area. - Ensure complete implementation of LOTOTO (Look-Out, Tag-Out & Try-Out) guidelines for personnel safety. - Contribute as a member of the respective safety task force across Department in implementing safety programs (confined space, contractor safety, etc.) - Identify health hazards that arise out of occupational, design & human risk factors and implement programs to comply with statutory requirements & hazard mitigation. - Review & ensure closure of actions identified against near misses, potential hazards, and various audits for closing the non-conformities. - Implement procedures & plans, for compliance with statutory, regulatory & environmental norms and HIL standards for Occupational Health, safety & environment. - Comply with safety standards & procedures (work permit system, storage and handling of hazardous material, etc.) for accident prevention in the Area. People development and engagement - Develop Skillset of AET members and maintain optimum Skill inventory. - Encourage & promote improvement activities / initiatives - 5S, Kaizen, FI, PI and customer centricity through regular reward & recognition. **5) Role Specific Competencies** Technical competencies - Degree in Engineering Mechanical with adequate relevant & trouble shooting experience. - depth technical knowledge of the subject as Subject Matter Expert in heavy metal manufacturing industries with at least 10 years of experience Behavioral competencies - ABG Leadership Competencies
