The Regulatory Reporting Quality Assurance (RRQA) team is responsible for providing governance and oversight of AMEX’s regulatory reporting processes, with a focus on proactively identifying risks and control improvement opportunities to ensure reports remain accurate, complete, and compliant. This is achieved through Quality Assurance reviews, which include the following pillars: - Process and controls testing - Validation of reported data against regulatory instructions - Detailed analysis and testing of underlying data to ensure data quality. This work is increasingly enabled by continuous monitoring and advanced analytics to enhance risk identification and coverage . The team partners closely with Regulatory Report owners, Technology, Data Governance, and other stakeholders to strengthen the control environment, drive timely remediation, and evolve capabilities through the use of innovative tools, including emerging analytics and GenAI solutions. **Minimum Qualifications** - 3+ years of relevant experience in quality assurance, audit, risk management, technology, and/or data analytics within financial services - Experience applying data analytics to support quality assurance, audit, risk management, and/or financial services. - Hands-on experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar). - Ability to translate business objectives, risks, controls, and processes into analytical requirements and actionable insights. - Experience partnering with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues and recommend practical, actionable solutions. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate analytical findings and complex quantitative information to a variety of audiences. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or other relevant field (e.g., Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems). **Preferred Qualifications** - 5+ years of relevant experience in quality assurance, audit, risk management, technology, and/or data analytics within financial services. - 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing analytics that support quality assurance, audit, risk management, regulatory reporting, or other financial services functions. - Experience with programming and data querying languages such as SQL, Python, or similar. - Experience developing scalable analytics, dashboards, automated reporting, and/or continuous monitoring solutions. - Familiarity with emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) and their application to data analytics, quality assurance, and risk management. - Demonstrated ability to identify analytical opportunities, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-impact solutions in a dynamic, evolving environment. - Experience leading analytics initiatives or cross-functional projects, including coordinating stakeholders and developing team members. - Advanced degree in a quantitative or related field - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CAP, or analytics/technology-focused equivalents) At American Express, our culture is built on a 175-year history of innovation, shared values and Leadership Behaviors, and an unwavering commitment to back our customers, communities, and colleagues.
