Job Description Manufacturing Excellence Lead Location: Trichy Manufacturing Unit Experience: 9–15 Years Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering Function: Manufacturing Excellence / Operations Role Purpose Lead and drive Manufacturing Excellence initiatives across the manufacturing unit to improve operational performance, manufacturing capability, quality, cost, productivity and equipment effectiveness through structured improvement methodologies, data-driven decision making and deployment of best manufacturing practices. Key Responsibilities • Drive the Manufacturing Excellence roadmap for the plant aligned with business and manufacturing objectives. • Lead Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence initiatives across production, quality, maintenance and supporting functions. • Establish and improve manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE, productivity, yield, throughput, downtime, conversion cost and process capability. • Identify systemic losses and lead root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving for chronic and high-impact manufacturing issues. • Drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Visual Management and structured problem-solving methodologies. • Benchmark manufacturing processes and facilitate adoption of best practices and standard operating systems across manufacturing areas. • Lead cross-functional projects for capacity enhancement, loss elimination, quality improvement, cost reduction and manufacturing process improvement. • Develop and strengthen daily management systems, performance review mechanisms and shop-floor management practices. • Drive digital/data-based manufacturing improvement initiatives, including performance dashboards, loss analytics and process monitoring. • Facilitate Manufacturing Excellence assessments / audits and track improvement actions to closure. • Build capability of production and cross-functional teams through training and coaching in Lean, TPM, problem-solving and continuous improvement tools. • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure sustainable implementation of improvement initiatives. • Ensure improvements are standardized, sustained and replicated across relevant manufacturing processes. Key Deliverables / Success Measures • Improvement in OEE, throughput and manufacturing productivity • Reduction in process losses, downtime, rejection and conversion cost • Improvement in manufacturing capability and process stability • Successful implementation and sustainment of Lean / TPM / CI initiatives • Deployment and replication of manufacturing best practices • Improvement in shop-floor management and problem-solving maturity • Measurable financial benefits from Manufacturing Excellence projects Desired Experience • 9–15 years of experience in manufacturing, with significant exposure to Manufacturing Excellence / Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing environment. • Experience in leading plant-level improvement programs and cross-functional manufacturing projects. • Strong hands-on exposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, structured problem solving and performance management systems. • Experience in driving change and influencing production teams at the shop-floor and management levels.
