**Job Description Manager – Master Data Management (MDM)** **Location:** Bangalore, India **Business Unit:** Corporate **Experience:** 5–8 Years **Function:** Master Data Management / Data Governance **Role Overview** We are looking for an experienced **Master Data Management (MDM) professional** to drive master data quality, governance and process excellence across key business functions. The role will be responsible for managing **Material, Customer, Vendor and BOM Master Data**, ensuring data accuracy, compliance and consistency across ERP systems. The ideal candidate should have strong understanding of **manufacturing/production processes, material management, data governance and ERP systems**, along with the ability to work closely with business, technology, finance and supply-chain stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Own and manage **Material, Customer, Vendor and BOM master data** with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness and data quality. - Establish and monitor **MDM governance processes, SOPs, controls and approval workflows**. - Conduct regular **master data quality checks, audits and validations** to identify and resolve data inconsistencies. - Ensure accurate maintenance of **tax-related master data**, including HSN codes, tax rates and other statutory requirements. - Analyze master data issues and business processes to identify **root causes, process gaps and improvement opportunities**. - Manage master data requests within defined **SLAs and turnaround timelines**. - Work closely with **Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Technology and Data Governance teams** to ensure alignment on master data requirements. - Partner with Technology/ERP teams for **MDM module enhancements, automation and system improvements**. - Participate in **new ERP implementation / ERP transformation projects**, including master data migration, validation, cleansing and governance. - Develop and monitor **data quality KPIs, dashboards and reports** for management review. - Drive standardization and continuous improvement of master data processes across business units. - Conduct peer/process audits to ensure adherence to established **SOPs and data governance standards**. - Identify recurring data issues and implement preventive controls to improve data accuracy and operational efficiency. - Support cross-functional initiatives involving **data harmonization, data cleansing and master data migration**. - Provide guidance and support to team members on MDM processes and data governance practices. - Ensure effective documentation and maintenance of master data policies, processes and controls. **Key Data Domains** - **Material Master** - **BOM Master** - **Customer Master** - **Vendor/Supplier Master** - Taxation / HSN Master Data - Other business-critical master data as required **Required Skills & Experience** - **5–8 years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance or related functions.** - Strong experience in **Material Master and BOM Master management** within a manufacturing/industrial environment. - Good understanding of **production processes, materials and supply-chain operations**. - Experience in managing master data across multiple business functions/domains. - Hands-on experience in **data quality, data cleansing, validation, governance and process controls**. - Experience in **ERP implementation / migration / master data transformation projects**. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify data/process gaps. - Good understanding of **SOPs, governance frameworks and process improvement**. - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. - Ability to work effectively with **Business, Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Technology and Data Governance teams**. - Experience in preparing **MDM reports, dashboards and data-quality metrics**.
