**Mechanical Design Engineer - Power Transformer** **The opportunity** As Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Transformer design at the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, you'll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, diversity, and collaboration. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experts from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to building a sustainable future. **How you ll make an impact** - The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in design covering different countries. - Responsible to generate active part and windings/ Tank Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards. - Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc submission to customer as per project schedule. - Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics - Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network. - Participation in internal design concept reviews. - Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference. - Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world. - Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business. - Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. **Your background** - B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering. - 2 to 4 years of experience working in Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered. - Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. **Creo** is considered as an advantage. - Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement. - Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards/Canadian Standards - Experience in winding design / Tank externals is an advantage - Experience on Microsoft office and tools. - Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world. - Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference. - Proficiency in both spoken written English language is required.
