**Role & responsibilities** We are seeking a highly skilled **Cloud Data Architect specialising in Microsoft Fabric** to drive the organisations data transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will define architecture strategy, design scalable data solutions, and lead migration initiatives across modern data platforms. **Primary Skills** - **Strong experience in Microsoft Fabric ecosystem** - **Hands-on with:** - **Fabric Data Factory** - **Fabric Synapse** - **Power BI (nice to have with Fabric integration)** - Strong experience with **Azure Data Platform services** **Secondary Skills** - Azure Databricks / PySpark / SQL - Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse concepts - Cloud migration strategies (AWS / Azure / Hybrid) - ETL tools knowledge and comparison (ADF, Informatica, etc.) **Must-Have Expertise** - Deep understanding of **data architecture patterns** - Experience with **large-scale data migrations** - Strong knowledge of **ETL/ELT tools and trade-offs** - Ability to independently design and deliver **solution architecture** - Strong stakeholder communication and leadership skills **Key Responsibilities** - Define and execute a **strategic vision for cloud-based data engineering**, aligned with business goals. - Architect and implement **end-to-end data solutions** using: - MS Fabric - Fabric Data Factory - MS Fabric Synapse - Azure Databricks - Leverage **MS Fabric AI capabilities**, including: - Notebook Copilot - Data Factory (FDF) Copilot - Design scalable **ETL/ELT frameworks and reusable data pipelines**. - Perform **greenfield implementations and brownfield migrations**: - AWS MS Fabric - Azure Databricks MS Fabric - Synapse MS Fabric - Evaluate and onboard **data engineering tools and technologies** based on organisational needs. - Collaborate with **data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders** to deliver impactful solutions. - Establish and enforce **data engineering best practices**, including: - Data modelling standards - Performance optimisation - Governance and security
